Typical mentality, we drove sh#t cars before and could rob and steal to our hearts content.

Now we drive nice cars, but don't make as much, due to getting paid as per our work.

“I joined because we didn’t have to deal with cash and admin and they also promised us to be our own boss and get a chance to earn up to R10,000 ($650).We have to work long hours for little income. The cost of living is too much we’re not benefiting anything from Uber. It just came to Africa to abuse Africans,” he said.

So stop driving for Uber... :erm:

And that about sums it up.

If you dont like it, do something else.

But then they will burn those willing to drive for Uber.

If its not Uber, it will be something else - the price of eggs, or politics or some wonderful issue that demands that something belonging to someone else gets burnt in the name of freedumb and democrazy .....

Uber overstayed its welcome ever since it arrived 2,000 years ago to colonise and exploit Africans...

25% is a bit extreme imo. Uber is coining it! They did see a massive need, and fulfil that need. But I expect some big competition coming up in this arena. There is a lot of room for a competitor. I use GrabCar in some countries in Asia and they are just as good.

The last time I took an uber the driver told me he has to pay R3000/week rental to his 'boss' for the use of the yaris sedan. He pays for his own fuel and mobile data. He drives 12hr/day 7 days a week to make money.

Now if he bought the car himself, he would be doing just fine and I think this is where the problem lies.

There are middle men between uber and many of the actual drivers in SA. The margins don't really allow for this.

So if you didn't want to be abused why did you sign up to be an Uber driver? Or did Jan or Hendrik or PW take you on your collar and focred you to sign. You signed the contract you dumbass. You need to apply to be an Uber driver. Now because you have to work a bit hard now you piss about exploitation. People like this should just GTFO.
