No, the gay's couple argument is that their colleagues, specifically straight and lesbian women, receive cover for surrogacy, IVF etc. Two lesbian women can't conceive together either.
Nobody receives cover for surrogacy, because surrogacy is illegal. Do they not know what a surrogate is?

Lesbians are covered, if diagnosed with infertility. However, surrogacy is currently illegal in New York, so single, gay men would not benefit from the new mandate. It’s unfortunate news that will require continued advocacy. Link

Even if it were legal I don't see how any insurance would want to cover someone not on ones medical insurance.

Neither of these men are infertile. Insurance only covers that aspect.

Case closed.

PS: I love the women's rights advocates wringing their hands here so as not to offend the gays. What a conundrum....hehehe.
