Some serious paranoia - and misinformation in that article.

The popularity of the Windows OS makes PCs particularly vulnerable to attack, so the fact that Windows XP is now increasingly embedded into the likes of cash point machines, in-flight entertainment systems, and even the next generation fleet of the British military, should prompt anyone concerned with security to sit up and take notice.
Clearly the author of this article has no idea what they're talking about. XP is hardly ever used as an embedded operating system. Whichever company does use it as an embedded OS is point blank and downright idiotic. Perhaps Gary Boniface should do proper research before unloading CARP to the masses. A good place to start would be Windows CE - Microsofts actual embedded OS.
