“Video Playback Error” - Xiaomi TV Box S

Please advise, A week ago I bought a Xiaomi Mi TV Box S , did the connection and downloaded a couple of apps. On the second day of use I started to receive an error “Video playback error” on the screen. There is retry and close, it seems to happen regularly now on anything,Dstv now, showmax, Netflix etc.
I click retry sometimes it works , sometimes it display the error again. I tried to restart, disconnect hdmi and reconnect, nothing seems to work. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

What is your internet connection/speed like?

I usually get that with the dish app but only when the network in congested.

had it for the last 3 weeks already, there was a pending update for me this weekend past, i havent had video playback error since Saturday

I've been having this error and it was driving me mad. Tried clearing the cache, uninstalling and reinstalling, making sure all the latest updates had been installed, none of it helped.

What I eventually did was go to the settings on the DSTV Now app and to manage devices, and I deleted some old devices that were still registered there, because you can only have 4 registered at a time, and I haven't had the error since.

Hope this helps some of you solve your problem too.
