Guys during one of my boring weeknights I decided to connect the iburst using the NIC when I discovered the change in the connection speed that is reported by the connection Icon. 1.0mbps on usb and 10.0mbps on nic. Is there really a speed difference between the usb and the nic connection. and can I use the iburst modem to connect to other services other than the wbs network.

I don't think so hey. I've tested both and I get the same speeds out of both interfaces.

I think it means the ethernet port / NIC can do speeds up to 10Mbps. Not that your equipment is doing 10Mbps.

no real speed impact... but i presume ethernet is less cpu intensive and even then probably marginal.

In your opinions, which is the better (usb/ lan) to use?

I use 2 pcs with a cross over cable. Do I need a hub if I use ethernet or can I use 2 lan cards?
