1 Mbit slow

Hi

I have been downloading large files during office hours and offpeak and seem to only get about 40KB/s with SAIX on a 1 Mbit connection. Am sure was getting at least 52KB/s on 512.

A friend of mine in Europe downloads from the same servers and gets speeds 8 times mine, so it's not the servers.

Is SAIX bandwidth limiting the **** out of international now ?

Use Getright or a similar download manager and use more than one thread and you should get your 100KB/s. Telkom are screwing the connection somehow.

No can do

If youre using SAIX.... 1Mbps is theoretical at best. I have been downloading in the US (from sites I regularly use in SA) at 200k+ per second. Just a minute ago, I couldnt use Skype to home in SA - now... lets see.. could that be a problem on the US side?... maybe not
