1 ton bakki vs 2ton truck?

Out of curiosity what makes more sense when starting a business.

For example say someone wants to start a business delivering goods.

In the start they would presumably be delivering less so a smaller 1ton bakkie makes sense but perhaps they get a large order occasionally where a 2ton truck makes more sense and in a years time they've grown so much that they need a bigger vehicle so the bakkie becomes obsolete.

What would be the best way to decide on the most profitable root? What do you think would be the best option when starting a new delivery business, buying a 1 ton bakkie or a 2 ton truck?

What do you want to deliver?

We do stone and aggregate, no bakkie comes close to our Navaras.

That said looking into a 8 - 10ton truck now.

A Kia workhorse or Hyundai H100 would be your best bet.
Relatively cheap and very dependable.

2 x 1-tonners... because then you can do double the deliveries at the same time...
