No idea what the download size actually is. 1.23GB I think the size was for the first phase, phase 2 comes just before the release.

Steam is a broadband appliaction and there is no true broadband solution in South Africa. Steam is wonderful for people living abroad.

Mine is also pre-loaded and paid for and once I use the in game backup utility I have one image with Half Life 2, Lost Coast and Episode 1 all together. No need to still go buy another disc as well

It backs up all your HL2 files to a image of your size. To restore it just double click on the image (STEAM must first be installed) and voila done. If your HL2 has all the latest updates it doesn't even need to update the install.

No problem.

BTW - it compresses the files as well.

HL2 + Lost Coast image = about 2.3 GIGS
HL2 + Lost Coast + Episode 1 image = about 3.4 GIGS (so far ... )
