A 75 year old woman from Karlstad in central Sweden has been thrust into the IT history books - with the world's fastest internet connection.
Sigbritt Löthberg's home has been supplied with a blistering 40 Gigabits per second connection, many thousands of times faster than the average residential link and the first time ever that a home user has experienced such a high speed.

I'm interested....is the project called internet2 because it's so fast? Or is it because it's the all new, completely redesigned form of the internet and internet protocol? I heard that the US government gave funding for researchers to do that and now I'm wondering if this is what they came up with.
Apparently with the current platform we are already running into trouble every time there is a localised problem in say Hong Kong (like the Earthquake beginning of this year) which then takes out vast majority of the world networks.
25000x actually.so they have speeds 250times faster than us.... thanks telkom you bastards
