Telkom charges vs 100 mbps
the article mentioned Orange SA offering
http://www.hkbn.net/index_e.htm
100 mbps has been available in Hong kong for more than a year
you get free channels of HBO etc down your broadband line to your TV
if you want 1 Gbps in your house you can have it for (used to be ) R 1350 a month
http://www.hkbn.net/bb1000/
there is a choice of 10, 25, 100, 200 and 1000 Mbps
Of course the ludicrous 'Cap' is only used as licensed theft in South Africa
I live in Hong Kong and have a house here
I am using the ridiculous Narrowband iBurst (false claims of broadband) which averages only 40 kbps dial up speeds Using UtTrace I see my signals are 7/10 above average but still have the poor access speed
It's high time SA got wise to these cartels , killed the Cap and started
providing proper access speeds at a reasonable price
But when you earn 30 million a year from Edgars local call bill who cares about joe public ?
