100 or 101 days to FIFA 2010 kickoff???

Today, March 02 2010, was celebrated as "100 days to kickoff". But is it 100 days? If kickoff is on June 11, then surely June 10 is one day before kickoff. Work it backwards (see below) and you will find that tomorrow, March 3 is actually "100 days to kickoff"

Been trying to tell everyone for ages now that they don't know how to read a calendar, but the answer is always 100 days to "zero" days to go. :erm: Sorry, but that makes no sense, even to my overworked singular brain cell!

It is not the same thing. Kickoff is on Friday, June 11. Are you going to say "one day to kickoff" on Thursday or Wednesday? Obviously Thursday - Wednesday is "two days to kickoff".

More precisely, kickoff is at 16:00 on June 11. So "one day(24 hours) to kickoff" is at 16:00 on June 10, NOT 16:00 on June 9. And "100 days to kickoff" is at 16:00 on March 03 (today), not March 02 (yesterday).

At least the "365 days to kickoff" was celebrated on the correct day, June 11 2009. But somewhere along the line they added a day...

the kick off is at 16:00, thus the number of "days" will decrease by 1 at 16:00 that day. By day they mean 24 hour period

Yea, what was I thinking. This is Africa and we use African time. Who cares about a one day error. The FIFA 2010 will start when the days are getting shorter. The time on the tickets will be either "morning", "afternoon" or "night".
