11.04 - Recovering Unity after Gnome 3 PPA install?

So I glossed over the fact that trying out Gnome 3 from the PPA would completely destroy Unity. Is there any way to force a reinstall of Unity so it works again, or is it completely FUBAR short of a clean install?

Have you checked in your package manager for something in the line of unity-desktop (as you would have kubuntu-desktop ubuntu-desktop, etc)?

Unfortunately Unity appears to be a Compiz plugin (not quite sure how that works, probably for backwards compatibility) - so I have no idea what to do in order to recover it.

It is not worth it to try and recover the installation, Gnome 3 removes everything Unity like and will probably need to be removed itself to install Unity again, just save yourself the trouble and reinstall.

I tried out Gnome 3 as well and it is even more messed up than Unity.
