The rand is the only currency with a strength conditional on location.

Whom ever wrote this article is an idiot
Article says R1 = 1.35 baht
My R1 = 1.96 baht. That’s a massive differnce
My rands to very far here because it doesn’t need to feed 80% of the population

Hungary (Hungry) and Prague are cheap from my experience, those prices seems right. Food and drink there is cheap compared to the rest of Europe.

Good luck finding beer in Turkey for 40 Lira in tourist places where you will most likely visit.

I have not been to Cairo since 1999 but back then I paid R75 for a single whisky, I can't imagine that a beer will cost R21 twenty four years later.

Thailand is still cheapish for us but I am sure that a big beer will cost you at least 80 Baht.

The catch is getting to, and staying in, those countries are in many instances very expensive.

You guys really don’t know how expensive SA has become.
You’ve been boiled like frogs. Sorry to say.
SA is very expensive. Greed is insane. But Japan is also not a budget holiday as implied by this useless article.
