my tower was down for a staggering 13 hours, it just came back on. One of my commercial servers was over its bandwidth limit for the month so since last night I was trying to turn it off untill july 1st but i couldn't for 13 hours, so now I owe over R800 for extra bandwidth used on that server, I'm livid

It's your choice mate - I would start putting out feelers now to see if you can get ADSL installed, rather than wait for the 1mbit adsl to arrive.
There's every chance it'll be here by August - it's going to take you at least a month to get hooked up with an ADSL line, plus upgrading doesn't cost, only downgrading does (lord knows why)

Yeah, going to pay a lot for 1mbit, I think iburst does not know what they are doing and that is why they are battling soooo much as far as customer service goes, they dont care. If they did they would be trying to look after their customers.

I know you cant keep all the people happy all the time, but come on guys lets try and keep some of the people happy and I dont mean 1 or 2. I have not heard any good comments about you guys since the beginning of the year. I have left messages with questions and still waiting for someone to get back to me.

Remember, just because you dont have problems with your connections at home does not mean nobody else is not !!!

no it won't take a month because I have an ADSL line, all I will need to do is get an ISP

Thought you already had an ADSL connection just lying around? If so, then signing up with Axxess can actually be done almost instantly...

we have an adsl line and pay for the adsl bit every month but for the last month or so nobody connects with it and we are no longer on any ADSL ISP, when 1mbit is released and assuming I can get an uncapped account I will sign up on the first day it's available

All that this proves is that speed doesn't trump the reliability card, IMO you have yourself to blame for relying on WBS' iBurst for stuff that can cost you bucks - whatever commercial venture it is...

My plan is to ditch WBS' iBurst, and get 2 connections to replace iBurst, I am getting HomeDSL192 with 5GB ISP a/c for when I'm in my home office & want to queue downloads to happen overnight, and I will probably get a 2nd connection - HSDPA for stuff I need quickly, as well as when I'm on the move and in my Sandton office...

I have different experience ... iBurst 7-8 KB/s most of the time, ADSL (the cheapest) 24 KB/s most of the time ...

well thats not my experience at all, so i'm not sure but it sounds like you're asking me to ditch iburst which gives me good speed all month long basically just because you had crappy speed back in like april

dude go to the dial up forum and talk about your 192kbit conection there
Slim dude, this attitude that you somehow "own" the forum & everyone else must do what you say & go somewhere else, or shutup when you tell them......strange how no one tells you to go to the cr@pper & talk about your iBurst there...
