The only one mentioning black people are you..... can you point out the racism in his post, please?

Are you high right now? Read the post I quoted.

Yes, and the history of both area's are not the same, and the way that these problems occurred are not the same, the cultures are not the same. Take more facts from our past and put it in the mix you might find different results.
The only reason race becomes part of the issue is because the government decided to implement racist policies... I cant be blamed for that, they forced it into the discussion, and plays a major role in the result. So the racism sits with the ANC not me.
I'm just pointing at the flaw in their racism :)

You were doing so well on the critical thinking but then how did you leap to the ANC being at fault and not the Nats?

Unabashedly racist bullschit. Jesus.

Do you have any evidence that black people cannot operate a power grid? Do only white people work at the electricity utilities in California?

BTW: I'm not saying Eskom is a well run business supplying a uninterrupted power to the nation. I'm saying they are a bunch of cnuts, of all colours.
There wasn't loadshedding before 1994.
Hell, Eskom was built from nothing in those days.

You can't ignore the fact that skilled employees didn't end up in the jobs they should be doing at Eskom, because of BEE. Many left the country.

There might not have been load shedding but far flung areas had no or little electricity, in fact sometimes it wasn't even that far flung. The power grid wasn't always dandy either Northriding has been having power issues going on 25+ years. I know I lived there in the 90s right through to the early naughties before "load shedding".
Got used to not having power often actually.

Not BEE. BEE determines ownership/supply chain.
You mean Affirmative Action.

Valid point.

However, adding all those who were previously not on the grid without first expanding the grid - and then allowing little extra income in return for adding them to the grid, is part of the reason we are where we are now.

Heh, we got load shedding and no water at home. Not related. Water was out a full 2 hours before the load shedding began. Yay.

Again, if one little problem brings the grid down, how on the edge have they been running Eskom?

With all that managers, bailouts & double the personnel per jiggawatt that other countries? LOL

Please nobody sneeze, lest we lose another piece of Medupi & have to switch off the Vrystaat..

Crysis... where do you live?

Here in CPT we only have load-shedding besides planned outages. Everything always works otherwise.

Escum are a bunch of morons, who do they think they are fooling? This is just an excuse to put NERSA under pressure to increase the rates. How in hell do you loose capacity at Medupi which is a fairly new power station!
Fire the bastardages and get on with supplying electricity Escum.

First you get rid of all the white knowledgeable folk.

Race-based affirmative action, political interference, and political appointments were predictable. Highly skilled and experienced white engineers, managers, and technicians were given generous ‘packages’ to get out and make way for persons of the correct skin colour and political affiliation,” Kenny said.

“This was sometimes known as ‘space creation’. To Eskom’s previous single brief – providing sufficient electricity – were added various political and ideological objectives.”

“ANC ministers seemed to regard Eskom as a sort of magic machine that would automatically make as much electricity as was needed, but could also be diverted to other purposes, social and political,” Kenny said.

"The new managers at Eskom, mainly political appointments, seemed to have little interest in ensuring future electricity supply.

Instead, they were preoccupied with other goals, such as racial transformation and keeping the price of electricity artificially low for social purposes."

Then, you get a greedy, amoral and thoroughly corrupt political party to "invest" in a reputable company and grant them billions in contracts to build it.

Yep, it's Van Riebeeck's fault.

You can change that to "the experienced people were forced out, to be replaced by inexperienced people" and the problem would be the same. We should stop putting race in things that have no relevance.
How is it not relevant when it was due to racist policies?

Customer came in to work today. No water, no electric, no phones where he works.
