1800 Mazda Astina motor

Buddy of mine blew the motor on his 1999 1800 Astina. Looking for a replacement or suitable alternative that wont be too much of a ball ache. Tried Jap motors etc.

You guys have any ideas?

Was never a fan of those 1.8 engines. Underpowered and poor economy for the technology behind it. Scrap yards or others like Japan Auto would be your best bet.

had an astina... gutless engine, terrible gearbox. But the styling...loved it.
