Shipping fees for an item that weighs like 10 grams?

Shipping should be waived altogether on such light items.

Along with high ADSL costs ... our country also has high courier costs! If you can pick the item up yourself ... I would recommend it! If not, I know Shop365 charges R59 for delivery, and delivery is NOT optional (AFAIK)! So the R224 all of a sudden becomes R283. Watch out for these hidden charges when ordering online, some stores also add extra charges for Credit Card transactions, even though it's "illegal".

Actually, delivery charges are kind of reversed! Smaller items cost more to deliver, it makes a large percentage of the actual price! I think Kalahari waves the delivery charges above R300 or was it R500 ... but they put a much larger markup on items!

For a store like Sybaritic and Shop365, if they give free shipping on this item at 220-224, they are likely to run at a loss because their margins are much smaller!

Things to note about flash drives:

  • Not all the same speed for read/write.
[Even models of the same brand have quite diverse speed ranges for each - eg. Sandisk]
  • Not all have compression software built in.
  • Not all are U3 compatible - a software standard.
  • They wear out after a time (thousands (?) of reads/writes).

Sahara Flash Drive - Drivers

anyone know where I can get deivers for a sahara flash drive (the silver one), for win 98. Works fine on Xp but needs the drivers for 98. I need to transfer files to the 98 pc. I tried www.sahara.co.za, but can't access the site, if you know where I can get please let me know...

what does AFAIK mean?

RFLOL, IMHO, you should google for things like this. IIRC you can type the following into the google searchbar Define:xxxxwhere xxxx is the term that you don't understand. In situations like this it is always good to RTFM and STFU. ;)

edit:In case anyone is offended, please note that this is irony

are there differences between the different manufacturers of flashdrives?

Is one make better than the other? If so, why?
