Guys

I heard that the Logitech X230 speakers are good value (2.1 set) ... any comments .... what are you running .... live in a complex so big sound is not so cool for me.

My PC is in the garage so it is also not very practical for me to install 5.1 set ...

Any recommendations ...

Cheers ... with a warm cup of Milo in my hand .... sdd

I got the Logitech Z-30 2.1 speakers. At first i was a bit disappointed with them but i suppose they are actually quite good speakers. I have 50gb of music which i play all the time so speakers are important for me. They are quite expensive though. What like R700 - R800? Maybe you could hook your Hi-fi up to your computer?

ALso saw the Z3-e speakers at makro ... I wonder how they compare ... price diff +R150.....

btw wtf is up with tomsh/ware recently... the site has gone commercial in a big way ... full of ad links.... used to be great for research ...

Arent X230s just a 2.1 version of the X530s? My friend has X530s and when I used them as a 2.1 version I didnt like them at all. They sounded very strange and not at all like they should even though I set them up as 2.1 speakers in all ways.

Hey Anti.. you actualy posting. You talking about Quinns speakers right. They suck.. sound like its coming out of a tunnel or sumthing.. weird.

Well Ive got those crappy creatives (SBS 370) and they suck.. so dont get those. Id rather go with Anti's speakers, but they cost more.. probably worth it.

If you have the dosh, Harmon Kardon Sound Sticks are amazing little beasts.

Check it out here: "http://www.zastore.co.za/index.php?lm=IGstore&cf=ProdList&p[/url][prod_id]=159&d=1&p[cat_id]=SPK"

Ye Ekhaatvensters. I really dont like the x530s and they sound more like air through a sewer than a tunnel. Dont know what they're supposed to sound like. Why do people rave about them .... just because they're cheap? Maybe they're tone deaf I dont know.

Ekhaatvensters I've got the same set of SBS 370's, I find them to work most brilliantly, maybe your bass is set to high? If you've got a cool soundcard, play around with the equalizer and make sure the treble and bass are set to a decent level, not too high and too low. I like my creative's :)

I also thought they were cool at first too.. but then i heard a friends proper speakers.. they arent that great trust me. SBS is the bottom of the range.

My bass is fine.. used to be too high, but I dont have a sound card at all, onboard but its okay.

if you go to volume control, then click advanced under the master volume slider, why is the bass and treble grayed out?

It would be great to set them on my audigy!

He, which pair did you hear demo'd? im very interested because i am going to buy some expensive 2.1's on monday. Looking at R1500 max. At the moment I am goin to buy Altec Lansing MX 5021's on monday for R1440.

Is this the pair you heard, or even something similar, if so, how did they sound?

Guys if you can help me at all Id relly appreciate it. R1500 is ALOT of money for me to spend on a PC part that isnt even performance. But it is worth it too me, yet I dont want to buy something I will regret. I will use my speakers mainly for listening to music. Metal music too, if that helps anyone. The Altecs are supposed to be good for music. Anyone have any thoughts, experiences or reccomendations?

btw, any one know how mucg Creative gigaworks 250D's are? I think thy rae out my price range though, any other good speakers worth looking at R1000+? I know about the logitech z-2300's, I dont think I will like them much, too much flashy bass for rap music..
