Every night the last week at about 8 ish an armed police escort has been driving with big trucks past the back of my house. Its not the usual route but I guess its because of this crap.
MoreletaPark pretoria. You live in South Africa's most dangerous township?
MoreletaPark pretoria.
Seems like a war zone after 8 with the sitens coming past
Nope, its big construction vehicles. An escort is very different. I'm assuming what you see is the daily escort from the SA Mint.
I have the same every day at work with prisoners being transported to Cape Town Central magistrates court. It's just an escort.
That's not the same living in one of the most dangerous areas in SA. Most emergency services don't dare go there.
Can we test their readiness after the training on John Tempus? I wanna see something.
ThisSure but my white priviledge will clearly not put me in the crossfire before they have a chance at yourself. ;-)
On a more serious note you do realize why most police end up getting shot or killed by gangsters/criminals is because of our lax and bs rules around how police may engage. We are in a warzone in these Cape Town areas so how about we treat the reaction in these warzones as they would in a warzone. I dont think you have any idea how little the gangsters in Cape Town areas care about law and order, absolutely sweet fkol.
Four arrested over murder of two City law enforcement officers in Philippi
Cape Town – Mayor Dan Plato has condemned the "heartless act" in which two of the City of Cape Town’s law enforcement officers were killed in the line of duty in Philippi on Wednesday afternoon.
They had been protecting a City contractor who was delivering services in Philippi.
Police have arrested four suspects for being in possession of firearms stolen when the law enforcement officers, aged 54 and 49, were attacked.
The officers, aged 54 and 49, were wounded during the robbery and died from their injuries in hospital.
“In pursuit of suspects responsible for the ruthless murder of two law enforcement in Browns Farm, provincial detectives, supported by integrated forces attached to Operation Lockdown, conducted a multi-disciplinary operation in the area.
“This operation led to the arrest of four male suspects, aged between 19 and 33, and a female suspect, aged 23, for being in possession of four firearms comprising three glocks and a norinco, five magazines and 45 rounds of ammunition in Ramaphosa informal settlement.
"Two of the glocks were identified as the ones stolen from the slain law enforcement officers,” said police spokesperson Andrè Traut.
He said the suspects were detained for the possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition and were due to appear in the Athlone Magistrate’s Court once they have been charged.
This ^ and now even worse of after having their budget cut by R6 billion. Should have increased it by R12 billion and got more trained officers out there. This
SAPS is understaffed, poorly trained and right now doesn't even have enough ammunition to arm each officer.
How on earth are these officers supposed to make any difference when criminal elements have access to full auto weapons?
We are living in an country run by criminals on every level.
From goverment down to the highjacker in the street, they all prey on the rapidly declining law abiding taxpayer base.
2 more officers lost their lives today for what and to what end?
Losing hope and desire to keep fighting what feels like a losing battle :-(
You remind me of that scene in The Bee MovieTwo jobs just opened up.
Testing condoms for noise levels? Why are you askingWhere the fck is the president?

They are waiting for the government to supply bullets.Time that we get our Cops trained on shoot first, ask questions later.
Best post of this thread! This is the new South Africa 4 u. Live with it.This

A 29-year-old man suspected of being part of the killing of two law enforcement officers earlier this month in Philippi was on Monday night shot dead by members of the Special Task Force.
Western Cape police officers approached the man at Monwabisi Beach, near Khayelitsha, late on Monday night after receiving a tip-off, said spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Andrè Traut.
