Ok so starting on the 20/02/2008 I'll be on leave for 2 weeks. Unfortunately my wife needs to work so that means I'll be home alone during the day and have 2 weeks which will prob go to WoW only.

Now my question.

I have 3 options all of which I would love to give 100% to but need to make a decision and stay with it.

My Warlock is doing ok now with raids, up to OS. I have a level 70 Rogue, 71 Shaman and a level 32 Paladin. During that 2 weeks I want to work on one toon and one toon only...... Which one ?

I'm leaning towards the rogue seeing that there are so few of them these days. On the other hand I would love to have my Pala in Northrend for tanking. But the love of my WoW life (Shaman) might also be a good bet. Which one? Which one?

Shaman! And go elemental speck. While the char is so OP it is actually fun to play ;)
But then I would take 2 chars to 80 at the same time. And since the Paladin is the hardest I would make it the first priority. Play the shaman only on rested exp, and the paladin the rest of the time. If you want to go PVP then your rogue is nice to have, but looking at the current complaints about the class I am doubtful that the leveling experience will be that much fun.

IMHO go with one of the hybrids, being albe to do 2-3 roles is awesome, just respeccs can be costly.

Am still convinced that a ele shaman is one of the most useful toons to have on a raid

Ah just saw your paladin is 32? That may take a bit longer, stick with the shaman ;) As for tanking paladins are still awesome but all the other tanks are just as good now. With DK's making great aoe tanks as well.

On one of your days leave, why not go visit your wife at work with flowers or a chocolate - just be completely random :)

I clearly neglected the DK from the above list as I hate that class so much it actually makes me sick :D I have leveld one to 70 and just hated it so much. The fact that there is 1000 of them at any given time in every section of the world makes it so much more of a pain. I have seen people on our server actually refusing to invite DK's to any instances/Raids.

They are everywhere and finding a good one is like looking for a needle in a hay stack.

I really really really want to get that Pala to 80 or my Shaman..... aaaaggggghhhhh

I just don't know

I would go with a shammy, i've only played one up to lvl 20 but i had a blast with him :)
Mage is also a good option. 2 weeks though, could be tough :p

Leveling my Lock was the hardest thing I have ever done  Locks are a bitch to level (Affliction) I had to dot everyting and it took a while for them to die. I leveled my Shaman and had a blast with him from level 1 - 70 and enjoyed every second of it. It took me 14 days played from 1 - 80 on my Lock. I'm sure I can level a mage from 1 - 80 in 16 days. I should be able to play about 12 hours a day so that will make for 8 days played. I'm sure I can at least hit Northrend in 8 days played. Would be awesome to try and race to 80 in that 2 weeks. Maybe that will be more of a chalenge for my leave period than just doing Northrend on one or 2 of my chars.

I can def level my Pala to 80 in that time, I'm sure.

Well yes theres to many DKs around and with blizzard letting them roll on any server as lvl 55 means every reroller on other server will have DK first before he lvls anything else.

I see the DK class as the one class that everyone will have either as alt or as main.
I got to like DK too much tanking HKs as unholy spec been blast and i do 1.8k dps sometimes sitting top.
Would never be able to tank with pala.
Whole mana thing while tanking suck.
But my warlock could replace my dk as main never played one over lvl 14.

Dk does get bit boring why i have alts.
The specs all feel about the same.
Like different flavor ice cream but its still ice cream

Just 2 questions.

1. How do you Tank as Unholy ?
2. What kind of DPS do you have in your group to be top of the DPS meter ?

From what i have seen first hand. Warriors/Locks/Mages/Enchancement Shamans are always top of the Damage meter. Well geared groups ofc.

Ok,

I have decided that I will be getting my Pala to level 80. Up till the day my leave starts I will level her during the evenings we don't raid. Thus I should have more than enough time to hit level 80 when I'm on my 2 weeks leave. I have leveled till 32 now all the way as protection and afaik from 40 - 70 is a brease as Protection spec. Just grind one full camp at a time all the way to 70.

New MT in the making :p

I have to many abandoned alts, I think I should start pushing through on all of them.

1.Unholy makes the best aoe Dk tank and Bone Shield was OP before 3.08
People that think unholy cant tank should L2p dont warry i get this alot and yes unholy is i do get top dps in some HC runs but some people inv to pug for HC do only 1.3k dps.I never said they are better dpsers than any other class.
Different from player to player and gear.

2.Crappy pug kind sometimes i am lucky and get guys that do over 2k dps in HC runs then i am at the bottom like it should be.

And ofc you need all tanking talents not pure 100% unholy gotta think tank but its like 80% unholy.
Try it its fun.

Enjoy your leave dude.

Bone armor.

Ok I'm not to clued up with this whole DK thing so pls correct me if I'm wrong.

The Bone armour reduces said amount of damage right.

However, to be able to get to the 540 defence and get all the aggro generating talents one needs to be Forst spec'd  I can understand Bone armour being of benefit, but how does that benefit the group while in an instance ?

I forsee Aggro issues, Crit taken issues and so forth.

Or am I far wrong ?

The amount of dps the unholy aoe does increase your thread alot on many targets and bone armour can almost be on permanent depends in your dodge /parry cause you only lose charge if hit 6 charges reduces dmg 20% and it lasts for 5 min with 1min cooldown till next cast.

I keep agro ALOT better in unholy than in frost and i boost mage and lock aoe dmg with ebon plague theres n need to warry about aoe if you got unholy dk tank.Actually i love it when people let lose with aoe on every pull.
Not to mention anti magic zone can be live saver on Loken.

Why unholy got nerfed a bit.
Frost feel more power full vs mellee boses but they buffed frost havent played it after buffs.
Even blood makes good tankes lately.

I used duel wielding to get to 540 def .
Still unholy spec but took DW in frost.
But Dk rune has been added for 2handers to boost def.
