Number 4, wow. Or am I missing something and they not sorted as how dangerous these places are, they certanly not in alphabetical order! So does this mean that SA is the most dangerous place to visit in Africa? I really expected places like Nigeria/Zim/Sudan to be more dangerous.

South Africa suffers from a high level of violent crime, including rape and murder, although most visits to the country are trouble-free as the majority of cases occur in townships and areas away from tourist destinations. Robberies and car-jackings at gunpoint are increasingly common.

Bring on 2010....

you're safer on the streets of israel at 1am, than you are in your own house in south africa at any point of the day

This unfortunately is true, as I've had experience of both, albeit indirectly for the latter.

No. The sad part is we don't need to be on that list.
You took the words out of my mouth. It was the decision of the current regime when they decided that security was not necessary in this country

Yes but for different reasons. There are certain places in Israel that are completely safe. They are probably on that list due to being surrounded by a bunch of terrorists. Can anyone here tell me one city in SA that is safe

Do you have any scientific data to back that up? Or are you just generalising?

Surprisingly, Nigeria and Zimbabwe are pretty crime-free. Well, relatively...

Nigeria, crime free? I don't believe it....

Zimbabwe, crime free? Yeah, of course... there's nothing to steal in the first place :p
