Hi. I have a 2005 opel corsa classic 1.6, engine was noisy and using oil. Replaced bigness, rings, replaced valves, valve stem seals, head pressure tested and skimmed. Now using at least 250ml oil a week, burning oil smell and clouds of blue smoke. Engine is running smooth and lots of power. Please can anyone help with advise as to what can be the cause.

Are you sure they put the right rings on? That's a lot of oil loss. Blue smoke is burning oil, so I'd guess that someone put the wrong seals on something when the car was repaired. Or the head wasn't done properly.

Does it lose oil if the car is just standing?

Did you put the right size rings in? Did you check the ring gap? Did you hone the cylinders properly?

Hi
No oil loss when standing, car was running fine for 1st 2000km, then started using oil. Also found traces of oil in throttle body in front on butterfly. At times there's no smoke or burning oil smell and then other days burning lots of oil, mostly when engine is under load.

Definitely the rings. My car did the same.

Oil pushing up through the throttle body is because of engine pressure/compression issues.

I've also read it might be the pcv valve, not sure if this could be the case and where it is located?

It's usually located between the valve cover and the intake. Post a good picture of the engine, I am sure it must be visible.
