Match 2 was basically ours. I prefer to think of it as a win in spirit. :D

SA has been the better team in all 3 matches.
Have to agree with that :). The Aussie collapse yesterday was similar to our previous performances against them. Seems the roles have been reversed :p.

All I want now is a World Cup win .

Anyone else feel like the bowlers are winning the games for us and the batsmen are just getting lucky, and lucky for us every game there is one or two that do?

In the test games aswell... It feels like the bowlers are playing good, the batsmen are just doing okay?

We have been the better team in all three matches. We just screwed up in our tactics on the second game, hence us losing by a few runs. If we had pushed harder for two overs in the middle somewhere we'd have won that one too and be 3-0 up in the series.

Albie Morkel is really one of those impressive guys... and he came in just at the right time on Friday. The powerplay gave him the ability to score some fast runs (his last 21 runs came off 6 balls) before he made the mistake of getting most of those 21 in the same spot and got caught out trying for a short six.

That is good news! Bracken is a machine! Man of the series for me thus far (tied with Albie :D)

AB De Villiers.

Boucher is out with a broken toe as a result of that yorker from a certain Shaun Tait. (He's out for the rest of the series actually, the selectors are hoping he'll be all right for the series at home)

Boucher is a blow but with ab we will be able to compensate. Means vaughn's gets another chance.

But losing bracken is a disaster for ponting and australia. He is basicly screwed in the death and power play overs since bracken is the only bowler who has been able to control those for him.

Ntini to Warner, OUT, chipped straight to mid-on! Ntini continues to mix up his deliveries well, slipping one in full and straighter and swinging it back into Warner, who goes for a flick but finds Albie Morkel stationed inside the circle, so that is an early breakthrough for Ntini in his first over
DA Warner c M Morkel b Ntini 1 (7b 0x4 0x6) SR: 14.28

Aus 9/1

Steyn to Marsh, OUT, good catch! Steyn angles it full and wide across Marsh, who flings the bat at the width but ends up slashing it off the toe end of the bat over backward point, Morne Morkel runs in from third man and dives forward to hold an excellent take.

Aus: 17/2 after 2.5 overs...

Ntini to Ponting, FOUR, rubbish ball, short and swinging way down the pads and Ponting clips it away past a tumbling Boucher, who had no chance of getting to it

Well of course he had no chance of getting it - he's not playing ffs...

Ntini is single-handedly making Ponting look very good...as usual!

WTF!!!!????

Ponting edged it to AB and we hardly appealed so it wasn't given out. Was clear as day!!!

WTF!!!!????

Replay showed it was out. Hotspot showed it was out.

Of course, if the batsman had been a respectable cricketer, he'd have walked. But it was Ponting.

AB is not looking pretty good so far. I know that a lot of us have been suggesting that AB take over the wicket-keeping position, but we really shouldn't underestimate Boucher's contribution to the team, or the difficulty in replacing the wicket-keeper who has taken more wickets than anyone else ever.

They just showed a replay where Albie clearly appealed - and the umpire said not out.

Well it's not a mistake by Albie nor AB actually. They did appeal and regardless of the animation of the appeal, if it is called for the umpire has to make the call. He gave it not out. Bizarre, as it was pretty damn obvious. Awful umpiring as I think he based his decision on the minimal appeal and not the actual circumstances. And in this day and age we don't expect batsmen to walk - the gentleman aspect has been replaced by the professional aspect. Although he hit the ground at the same time so it's tough for even the batsman to know if he's edged it or not.

EDIT: both AB and Albie questioned the umpire at the end of the over so they most certainly believe that they appealed. Ian Gould must have attended the Daryl Hair Umpiring Academy...

Regarding AB: I've never supported the view that he should take over the gloves from Boucher. He is an asset in the field and we have decent wickie talent provincially to take over from Boucher when the time comes. We can even strengthen the batting order further...

128/5!! The Aussies are playing silly shots, they dont seem to learn from SA's middle order. Singles and a boundary an over should suffice

I was so happy to see the back of Warner, the way the Aussies have been hyping him you'd think he was the next Tendulkar or something.

Is it just me or are the commentators seriously extraannoying today?

Even if they get 300 I reckon with Gibbsy back in form we should be able to get it...we bat all the way down to Morne...and Steyn showed he isn't a mug with the bat either.
