So its fine for you to criticize them but when someone else says something they are anti - SA, come on merc get real man.

Ok so because those 3 where ineffective for the test series you think they would have been in the one dayers, so why then are brett lee simmonds and clarke in the aussie line up if they don't ever do anything?

What a bunch of BS dude, i have seen gibbs, smith, kallis,ab,boucher all have bad games or series but does that mean that every series these world class players would not do anything, they are world class because they are talented and any team missing 3 or 4 key players and experienced players will struggle.

Again all i am saying is that we should not get over confident and cocky because should they get those players back in time for the SA tour there is no reason why they could not turn the table on us and then you would be posting here criticizing SA the whole time again :p Double standards

Oh FFS go cry me a river

Being anti and criticising are two totally different things. Apparently you can't tell the difference

Yes i can, saying we did not beat the strongest aus team and should not get over-confident does not strike me as being anti-sa, so i am not sure you know the difference :), have some faith instead of criticizing and you may not get confused with what is anti-sa and what is not :p

Anyways hopefully we can finish the aussies off 4-1 :)

Im only commenting on his captaincy, he's a good batsmen well good enough to be in the side!:p
Im biased towards Amla...

It feels better to criticise after youve won compared to when youve lost!:)

On his captaincy... he might be better or he may not, but luckily we are not in the position now where we need to throw a young guy in the deep end to captain his side (like with Smith all those years ago).

He does not have that much captaincy experience, and for all we know, he might be groomed as Smith's replacement in years to come. If he is good now, imagine him then...

He is turning into a bloody good bowler though!!

I'll second that [although I'm a teetotaler :p].

On the issue of Smith vs Botha as captain and their place in the ODI side, my opinion is that Smith does have the edge, but both definitely are required in the team. I have been pleasantly surprised by Botha's bowling in this series:).

On the batting front, I think Smith is our best batsman and has been fairly consistent in form.

On killa's point about a less than full strength Aussie team, I tend to agree on that:eek:. But we'll just have to wait for the home series to see who is the real McCoy :D.

SA FTW:).

We're South African's mkay. It's our destiny to b*tch and moan.

Why do i seem anti SA and anti smith, are you joking merc?

Who was the one during the test matches saying how we suck and have no hope, while i was saying lets wait and see? I remember how you put SA down as i am sure you will remember as well, are you anti SA?

I am not but i will not agree with someone's comment about ponting having excuses for losing by saying he is short of players, then saying they are not. I am happy we won but i do not for one second think we beat the best aussie team. Problem with South africa that has plagued them is they get cocky when they do these sorts of things. They need to be real and understand we have beaten a depleted aussie team and while its amazing we have done so well it does not mean we are amazing yet. All this hard work can be easily undone when aus come out here and nail our asses and this is my point, instead of thinking we are all that we need to sit back and think brett lee will back, simmonds will be fit, clarke will be fit, bracken should be fit. So maybe my realism seems anti - SA to you but it most certainly is not.

I am not anti smith but again i can see botha has lead us to 3 victories out of 4 against the aussies, again this is more than likely because the aussies are not at their strongest, but people will take note of what botha has done regardless of the aus situation so a few bad series and smith could be replaced by botha. Again this is what i call being realistic, you call it anti smith :p

Apart from maybe Brett Lee that was about the best team they can field at the moment. Their older players have retired just like ours have:p

I also questioned Botha's captaincy at the start. We even had guys in the office calling him Joane Botha and we were pleasantly surprised with the outcome.

So hats of the the guys once again and a good welcome back to Gibbs

Why is it that whenever a team wins, the captain is given all the glory? Cricket, like any other sport, is a team sport. There are many good performances that makes the victories possible.

Well brett lee is their main bowler and a damn good one at that, simmonds we all know is as solid a batsmen as kallis, then in the last ODI they had bracken and clarke out.

Johnson for me over-rated and is not their main bowler. He had one decent test series but other than that he has done nothing but get nailed.

If you look at the aussie team you see a very inexperienced team with not much talent :p, aussie cricket is free fall in terms of talent and i would be very worried if i was the Aussie cricket board.

Look beating the aussies is amazing i am just saying that as usual South Africans are getting carried away with what we have acheived over and i worry we get to confident and aussie come here and do to us what we did to them, so in closing i am saying we must not get over confident and cocky like we do alot of the time or we will have egg on our faces come the end of the aussie in SA tour.

Lee has been crap since his marriage broke down. He isn't the same player he was.

Symonds isn't mentally there anymore since the fishing trip.

Bracken and Clarke are the only two you can with confidence say they would have performed. We had smith and boucher out the last game as well so its 2 for 2 in that respect.
