Where's Loots Bosman? Kallis isn't a 20/20 player, doesn't suit his game, well documented and well known fact. I would open with Loots...

Not sure I'd drop Kallis - he can still be dangerous and I tend to give him the benefit of the doubt. He deserves that in my book. However I would make place for Loots and even Goolam Bodi at some point as well...

I must admit, I much prefer to listen to the Aussie commentators these days. They have so much more energy and bring more excitement to the game than a boring Keppler comment. We really do struggle with decent commentators these days. I miss the blunt attitude of Pat Symcox. Robin Jackman fills that role to an extent but his demeanour comes across as someone who is about to fall asleep at his mic more often than not.

The Aussies have some great characters in the box with Gilly and Warne who give credit where it's due. There old Channel Nine commentators are out and the new boys are in. They're a lot more entertaining. I'm watching the Dolphins beat the Eagles at the moment and I'd sooner listen to a Jacaranda news broadcast from 1987. I wish they played more local one dayers at midnight so I could cure my insomnia once and for all...

Even in studio, Gerald is OK but his co-presenters are worse than turd. Like they had Victor Mpitsang the other day and boy does he put you off to sleep. Hate to say it but I'd choose the Aussies over out zombies any day.

You know that Gerald The Cock is the Proteas' spokesperson as well? Hardly a non-biased anchor don't you think? Which is why I find question time to be annoying. The tough questions tend to be brushed off as if they're irrelevant which irks me. I still find him as boring as a tax form on a Sunday. I'd sooner listen to the exciting commentary of a marathon. We have absolutely no decent commentators. Pommie tries, but by god does he try too hard. I find him more annoying than anything else.

Our commentators tend to commentate as if they're reading a news broadcast. The Aussies have a little more fun, have a dig at each other and the players, have a laugh and in general just portray a group of blokes who sound like they're having fun and enjoy what they're doing. Our guys can go an entire minute without saying a word, only to break the golden silence with a monotonous "strokes it to cover for a single. Duminy looks in fine nick" comment. There is no passion in their voices, no emphasis on anything and in turn bores their viewers down to their assumed boredom levels...

No dude, seriously.

This is the internet, you can't be asking questions like that. Just check cricinfo's ZA mirror for a full breakdown.

Can't dispute any point in your post there. Pommie definitely livens things up a bit but he's the kind of commentator that has NO clue how to let out his excitement. e.g. SA take a big wicket and he'll be like "He's gone, he's gone, he's gone, he's gone..". Now c'mon, WTF is that?

Another things that irks me to no end is the fact that the Aussies get to enjoy the commentary in DD5.1 and HD, while Multichoice sit with their fingers lodged firmly up their backsides while we're forced to watch it in crappy SD.

Kallis isn't a 20/20 player, has never been. He was one of the worst buys of the last ipl season.

Fine as an odi and test player but he struggles in a game where there isn't time to get in.

The other batsmen need to stepup today only Duminy did his job. Fantastic lapshot against tait showed AB that tait isn't that fast.:D

Speaking of Tait, he's such a good thrower of the ball.

Wow that was a awesome match, big pity that we got destroyed :(

I basically lost my voice from screaming like a looney the entire match, had to be vocal amongst the sea of Aussies.

It was nice to see the South Africans, probably around a 100ish supporters that I saw, w00ts go us.

Poor AB got one bliksem of a ball, he's gonna be really feeling it today.

Well done to JP for yet another fine performance, Plumstead High School FTW!!!

But Damn, David Warner was just rediculous on debut :( , 19 ball 50... enough said.

We need to prove ourselves tomorrow, hopefully we can bounce back with a victory

Did you see the heavy strapping of his bowling arm elbow? I did not hear anything about him carrying an injury, so that strapping MUST be there to hide something. ;)

Anyway, besides the bad decision that Gibbs got, Tait unsettled the team. They have not faced anything that consistantly fast in a LONG time. And while we on pace, it was good to see Makhaya clocking in the high 140s for a change.
