Did you see the heavy strapping of his bowling arm elbow? I did not hear anything about him carrying an injury, so that strapping MUST be there to hide something. ;)

Anyway, besides the bad decision that Gibbs got, Tait unsettled the team. They have not faced anything that consistantly fast in a LONG time. And while we on pace, it was good to see Makhaya clocking in the high 140s for a change.
Maybe their speed gun is wrong :p

I see kallis and ntini have been dropped for tomorrow's game:

Agree with you there, not about Botha being useless but that vd Merwe should get a chance. 2 solid seasons of death block hole bowling, i saw him at the Hong Kong sixes as well and he was a standout, and of cos his batting is a bonus

Yeah I have played action cricket against him and FFS he can really turn a ball. I also think he is a better spinner than both Harris and Botha, he is also a better bat than both.... the clinsher is that he is still young and they can help him grow into a world great .....

Duminy is really proving to be a gem:). Too bad we couldn't pull it off :(.

I miss Smith already .

+1 Smithy has become a real totem of strength.

Maybe their speed gun is wrong :p

I must say I would play Amla any day in the pro 20 over kallis

Also morkel vs ntini when morkel is on song is a no brainer :p

I get the feeling that the shot Kallis played to get out may have been because he had been put under pressure pre-match to hit from the get-go? Now, now, big guy. No 5 overs to get the eye in stuff here, remember? It's hit time! :p But as others have said...he should've provided something of a stability role.

Damn I want to see that Tait get taken apart. Seems to have a real smugness about himself, doesn't he? A real Brett Lee-ness. I'd give anything to see him get a MacDonald? helmet spinner done on him. :D I loved Duminy's ricochet for six off him. :)

:D Ok, ok...maybe he is a nice guy. It's just his "victory face" that somehow gets to me. :p

You know the look of his that accompanies his "rip saw" motion upon taking a wicket?

Gah, I dunno...it's just one of those SA-AUZ things. Love to hate 'em! :)

He does have a smugness but I have to admit I love watching him bowl, that 1st over was really something awesome. Pity about his injuries.

Tait is a big cry baby just like trescothik. Quit the game last year because he couldn't handle the pressure .

Will see how long he lasts this time. It was poor batting from kallis and ab. JP showed them how to handle tait. He gets tired very quickly . Just needed to survive the first over.

WTF do they include kallis in a pro 20?

Drop him from the pro 20 for good i say.

They tried that with the 20/20 wc here in SA. He nearly had a heartache and resigned as vice captain. Since then they have been picking him.

Something I don't get - why have only two 20 games? Surely it needs to be a 'best of', ie. 3 games? Makes it seem rather exhibition with only 2.

If he pulls that crap again fire his ass i rate, personally i am not even sure if i would select kallis for one day games.

Flanders they do not want to push this pro 20 to much because there is no doubt that it would become the most popular form of cricket and the 5 day lovers are scared of it because it may mean less 5 dayers and more pro 20's :), which i would love :p

3 test matches is fine but 5 is just wrong :p

Because the traditionalist are really really scared of 20/20 cricket. That's why they try to belittle it and say it isn't really cricket, ect.

Ya, it sure seems that way. I think that's quite narrow minded really. I mean surely this form of the game will only attract more people to the game. It's not like the public decides on what gets played anyway. Call me the anti-purist but I think it's great.

It's exciting 20/20 cricket but it's fickle and it can go either way even between 2 sides where one has a clear advantage. That's possibly what makes it so exciting, the unpredictability of it and the potential for upsets....

Personally I think 20/20 cricket is a sad indictment on the sport and where it's headed. One day cricket come around in the 70's and was invented to create excitement around a sport that was seen to be waning. Now one day cricket isn't exciting enough so we get a new quick fix in the form of 20/20. So what next? 10/10? 5/5? Not sure 20/20 is so good for the long term future of the game. People used to enjoy one day cricket, we now going to create a culture of spectators that won't sit through a 50 over game cause it's too drawn out and boring. So who on earth is going to be left watching test cricket??!!!

The stadiums looked pretty full during the SA / Aus matches, and I think the same is going to happen when they come here.

In the last few weeks we've had some of the most exciting test matches ever - Ind / Eng at Chennai, and all three Aus / SA Games - when two relatively evenly matched teams compete at Test level we're seeing games going all the way, with big fourth innings run chases. I believe that this is partly due to the influence of T20.

I only said that because we lost. If we'd won it would be the future of cricket etc. :D

Wasn't referring to you at all. Was referring to those who in general don't like 20/20 at all and would rather see it disappear. You find many of them on the cricket forums around the web.

I know you weren't referring to me. But on Sunday afternoon I was loudly telling everyone about meaningless, zero-calorie cricket. :D

They are looking to create a new kind of game, where its like a 20/20 + test match.

Each team bats twice for 20 overs.... I think its going to kill ODIs.

But hay I will reserve judgement till Ive seen it :p:D
