Airwolf look at who we had to score 298 runs.

Kallis
Amla
AB
JP
Boucher

Nobody came out and took on the aussies, i do not blame our batsmen i blame mickey or even smith possibly both because i believe we did not walk out this morning thinking of winning.

Come on sheep shaggers!

Leave New Zealand out of it:)

Prince dilemma:

If AB wants to be "best batsman" then move him into opening. In my opinion, as much as McKenzie scored last year, his technique is deficient against Australia.

AB wants to bat 4 or 5. Mac played well in both of the innings this test just didn't go on, the same issue with all of our batsmen.

He deserves another go.

Basically, I'd let Prince sit out the next test and keep the team unchanged. One loss and we shouldn't be shuffling a (more often than not) winning formula around.

Agreed. It's unfortunate for Prince, who has done nothing wrong, but it is very fortunate for us that we have back up like that. :)

Woohoo - at friggin last! Albie's in!!!

Maybe he can replace his brother who needs to go back to the Don't-be-a-retard School of Batting if he wants to be considered any kind of all-rounder.

If I never see another Morne Morkel pull shot, I'll be a happy man...

I know I will be roasted for this, but JP needs to be dropped until he can learn how to play the short ball. He is hopeless at it, and now that the Aussies have figured it out, word will spread quickly.

The way he was jumping around the crease, you would think a tail-ender was batting. The same can be said about Amla to a much lesser extent. But in fairness to him, when comes in to bat, teams are looking to exploit the new-ish ball so most stuff will be fuller.

i thought Amla did rather well during that particular spell.
He was just getting short pitched bowling, and couldn't very well hook every ball when he's batting to save a test.

Was a surprisingly good tactic from Ponting there.

Think albie will be 12th man.

If they did not change the "winning" team to bring prince back I doubt if they will make changes to bring albie in, well maybe if they think they don't need a spinner. Can not see albie replacing Morne.

I could be wrong :p

Yup, 12th man.
But they should put him in there in place of his boetie.

Nha Morne is much more of a test player than albie IMO. But maybe Albie has changed a bit. I still say replace harris with Roelf VD Merwe.

Morne is bowling crap, he needs to at least be more economical.
He's supposed to be the new Pollock, but in my view, he's a disappointment.

Harris isn't doing too badly, reckon they'll keep him.

+1

If i was the selectors (thank heavens i'm not:D) i'd drop Morne, Boucher and Harris.

Give the gloves to AB, bring in Prince and Albie and give Botha the ball (even if he isn't much better than Harris...he proved he does have a brain in Aus and he can bat a bit). That would make our tail significantly shorter with the only true tailenders being Ntini and Steyn...and it wouldn't mess with the balance of the team either.

A bit drastic...and a bit of a pipe-dream but hey...i aint a selector so i'm allowed to dream. :p

IMHO i don't think dropping harris is an option to the selectors ....
harris has been bowling well lately and more importantly he's been getting the desired results... i'm not a harris fan but credit has to be given to him.

I don't like him either, but he's got a pretty decent record for a spinner so far.
