Yeah. In the 1st test we did dominate in the start. Got early wickets and we were looking good when they were like 150-5. Then haddin, north, johnson (ffs) hit us everywhere. Thats where we lost it. But i have high hopes for our boys, think we gunna do well

 No offense to her:eek:

Its just that there is no solid reason he should take preference over another player like Prince or even a young upcoming batsmen.

So the amount of runs he scored in 2008 means nothing to you?

Guess guys who score alot of runs don't deserve to play when they have a bit of a bad run?

Funny how when okes are scoring bit runs they are hero's the minute they have a couple of bad series people want them out.

Kallis has the poorest form of any south african top order for the last year yet i don't hear you calling for him to be dropped, if anything i think kallis needs to be dropped as he is failing in just about every series he plays in not just 1 or 2 but he can bowl and even if he could not the thought of dropping kallis would worry everyone. and he would not be dropped.

Kallis is a partnership breaker. He shows that in the 2nd innings quite clearly. You cant drop him he's to valuable. Its kallis ffs :) hes awesome. I would like harris to be dropped and get albie in, mckenzie out for prince. I think that would the best imo.

Mmmm problem is Mackie was looking more and more like his "2008" self in the last test, and the problem with dropping harris is that we then have no real spinner(no duminy and smith dont count). But If the wicket was seamer friendly I would also include Albie ahead of harris.

Yeah he did like quite solid, but the problem i find with him is that he's inconsistent. You never know if hes gonna make runs, prince is one of those players that will sit at the crease and score you a hundred on more occasions than not. Its not that i dont like mack, hes a great player but i just feel our team would be more solid with prince.... Ya the harris dropping is bit rash but our tail is just to long, even if it wasnt albie.. maybe botha (he can bat a bit better than harris). Once we hit boucher, everyone after him is useless. But we will see :) Will still support any team they field.

Of course but our tail is too long.

If our top order fail we are dead.

Like muralitharan once said: " When I am not taking wickets I don't ask the batsmen to bowl, if the batsmen don't score runs why should they ask me to score a century?"

I tend to agree, all of our top 6 batsmen avrg above 45 IIRC barring Mackie.

We should be able to post big inning scores with those 6. Yes I also feel we are missing prince a bit but damn I would not like to pick who gets dropped to open up a spot for him :)

Ps we are going to have to bat last again :(

He was never a hero in SA, if it wasnt for his sister and her friend the guy would be nothing lol...

So hes good in domestic cricket...

Is he playing today? I hope not...

Muri is right but he is also wrong, should the bowlers not do well it is up the batsmen to bring it home and if the top order fails your asking bowlers to save the innings, i do not see why bowlers cannot atleast learn to bat half decent. We used to have bat all the way down the order but now we have 3-4 guys who are part time batters.

Ya i agree. I think murli's statement is a bit off. EVERYone has to bat, no matter who u are. Keeper/bowler/a good fielder it doesnt matter you still gotta bat. Atleast contribute something

Well he said it and he didnt generalise with all batsmen, Murali is a specialist and his stats show that. He doesnt need to bat!

Jk yes i understand that but when you have 5 specialist bowlers who cannot bat do you think that would be a good thing.

He is basically saying i can bowl and should not need to bat.

So ntini, steyn, morkel and harris should follow suite and not bat or they should follow in kallis's way and pollocks way, even lance's way.

come on now you cannot honestly believe every bowler in a team who is a specialist should not worry about batting.

Have you ever seen Murali bat? I promise I can bat better than him using an ice cream stick. Hence his statement.

Theres a few bowlers in the world who really dont need to bat, they need to be that good!!!
Warne, Murali, Akhtar.. these guys dont need to bat.

Average bowlers like Ntini, Kallis and the rest need to be able to atleast score 10 runs. Especially today when a place in the team depends on your all round performance.
