Suddenly paintball and and an in depth discussion about Murali's throwaway comment is more important than the test.

btw...as posted before Prince has a better record (stats) than McKenzie in terms of average, strike rate ,hundreds and conversion of fifties.

As for comparing his season to Kallis', the latter has such a great track record that you won't dismiss him after even two seasons of failures...and btw with Kallis too, the stats don't support those who say he is slow either.

cheers

Ozzie you cannot look at his test match for slowness as that is part of the game, we say he is slow for one dayers and has lost many a game for us by destroying a good run rate.

He gets badly bogged down and goes into a shell he can never get of.

Yes but prince is not an opener ;)

Prince is our "wall" Amla and Smith have done well for a while now, why break that up? Even De Villiers can open with Smith.
Poor excuse.

You know why Aus is doing so well today? Its not the pitch its because Mckenzie is playing!!

AB has already been tried as an opener, so forget about that now. He's a middle order player.

The only player who can replace Mckenzie is Gibbs, that ain't gonna happen either.
We have enough "walls" in the team already.

Anyway, looks like Duminy has been worked out already, so Prince won't wait long.

The stats don't support that either.

AB's record as opener (average) is on par with Mckenzie, who has had a lot more time to lift his average.

...and AB has a much better strike rate, so any guesses who the 'walls' are?

And Mackenzie is an opener? Hes a middle order batsmen.
Amla can, hes an opener and does well as an opener in Test games.
We didnt have any walls in the last test..

Worked out how? Why you so quick to write him off?

Well i don't think we suck, it is harder playing at home and even harder playing when your expected to whip the aussies.

the Aussies i think needed to get away from their own press because wow they go crazy and now the pressure is on us so basically for once having home advantage is not an advantage anymore between aus and sa.

Don't count your loses just yet, the only thing keeping sa back at the moment is morkel's poor bowling today , he really needs to improve.

His bowling was a bit poor in the opening sessions, but improved in the afternoon.

Was tough goings for SA today. One thing I'm happy about is Ponting's 9:p.

After the last match, I just wanted to smack the smile off his face.

So the stats are not good enough?

Did u actually watch any of those matches?

....yes, and I wish I got all that wasted time back.

A point easily forgotten...he is a makeshift opener too.

That said, in light of how he has scored his runs before, other than in Australia, he will probably take advantage of the flat track here anyway...well we hope, for if not....then ....???

South Africa really suck...

The way they played in Aus, is clouded by the fact that they won the series. Both tests were won from very unlikely positions, with rare performances by tailenders, against a depleted Australian attack and only by winning fewer than half of the ten days' play.

And before you say it wasn't so, first tell me how much you put on them to win at the time the odds were between $15 and $10 during the match.

The series was a lot closer than the scorecard, yet Australia got a caning in the press, and they are out to prove a point with a slightly more balanced side (still without Clark and Lee).

cheers:)

Yea that is very true ozzie.

Look this is a flat pitch what do people expect? do they expect us bowl the aussies out for 200 on a flat pitch?
