De Villiers opening now....

..****, just as I was typing it, he hasn't backed me up.

3 down plus Smith injured...what's duminy going to do agianst this.

Was in a restaurant when SA wrapped it up...but felt that if SA did that on a humid Durban day with a 20 over old ball...then it may be worse for them.

JP is struggling with the short balls....
Doubt he'll be there long, Id tell him to hook rather than look like an idiot.

What's the go with playing genuine short pitched balls with the handle of the bat?

What good can come of that? I disagree with commentators that its bad luck. its bad luck when a good length ball rears up off a crack.

And btw, how can you have your 'arm in plaster' (according to commentators) when your pinky is broken ...esp your right one. A non displaced fracture of a digit doesn't even need a splint. I know its about preserving it for future games (or more correctly his own career) , but when your country is being pummelled you stay there or go back out there....just stop putting your bat handle front of face...duck or hook ffs.

When does a test become abandoned? I mean another injured player(in particular batsmen) and SA is out without even walking on the field.

Surely there must be a limit?

looks like there will be more injuries in this game than a Super 14 rugby match.

well to be honest our batsman cant play a hookshot, send them in without a helmet and they will learn to do it fast enough. Btw do you guys reckon Mackenzi and Morkel is being exposed now?

Do you guys think we play to defensively? i think we come out with a negative frame of mind, the aussie swhen they bat look positive play their shots, we look bunch a scared school girls who block and leave just about every ball and still lose wickets doing it.

We need to change our mentality or we will lose this series 3-0. Get in and play your shots!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, he was still there at end of play, and he's got more than half the runs on the board.

I watched a lot of the cricket yesterday and today, and the difference in batting between us and the Aussies can be clearly seen - when it comes to tight bowling , the Aussies still get the ones and twos and keep the scoreboard ticking and rotating strike, while we tend to let maiden after maiden go by.

Basically SA needs to learn to play the hookshot or on the back foot, that is why kallis and Smith is injured, Kepler wessels mention that we havent faced a bowler that bowls more or less 147 + km per hour constantly in awhile and our players simply cant hook.

Yea thats my point Airwolf the aussies keep the runs flowing, we are happy to to sit and block and leave entire overs.

I am not sure who said what about jp duminy but they clearly have issues because jp duminy has been a revelation in South african cricket and sure he will fail but if it was not for him in aus and again today we would have serious problems. Telling jp he looks like an idiot is idiotic, without duminy we would be all out for under 100

What is wrong with kallis? he as may as well not bother batting for us because he never scores more than 35 anymore. Amla looking totally off form and maybe prince should replace him.

There is a big difference between Amla's duck and McKenzie. The latter played just like he did in Aus, and misjudges balls outside his offstump. That wasn't a great ball.
Amla got a huge inswinger from Johnson...a rare feat for Johnson, perhaps the weather had something to do with swing yesterday- guys at ground?Durban may wish to comment- but given that his balls normally pitch off and go towards 1st slip, it was a pearler that swung in pitched middle and straightened...all at 150km or thereabouts.
Which is why they referred, because they thought it was 'normal' Johnson ball.
Don't think many righthanders would have got bat to it, whereas McKenzie has a technique issue.
Duminy now probably is making a case for moving up order...since that is when he is playing well anyway (coming in early)...move everyone up(or AB to opener) and Prince can stonewall behind Duminy.

Pray for floods;) Normal rain's not going to help.

cheers
