Great 50 for Prince to bring up the SA 100. Keep going boys.

Amla looks good as well.

Yes, he shouldn't have dropped that catch. But neither should Duminee have dropped a catch yesterday, and I don't see anyone saying that he should be dropped for it.

Give the guy a decent chance to get over the nerves and prove himself.

I am but did he not make a bit of a hash of a second catch as well?

And im not calling for the Axe, im just saying he should go practice an hour a day extra for catches :p:D

Yeah suppose not being able to catch is not all that important a flaw at this level..

If they drop team members every time they dropped a catch, we would not have a team:p.

So when you trying out for the SA squad?

Still waiting for old chissie to come and explain why the times are fibbing. :p

At least he did manage to hold onto one, and being his first test you have to give the man a break.

1/3? Not good enough. Not saying drop him but he must either start catching or go back to provincial for another season or 16.

Nope, 4 sessions is all it took to establish that he cannot catch... That is the harsh reality of test cricket...

+1, people need to be more than just a good bat these days. There were even talks of dropping Harris because he was such a poor fielder, but you can clearly see he has worked at it and is now MUCH better than he was a year ago.

Never, I know my limitations...

What you fail to realize is they have dropped McKenzie for Khan. My question is does Khan add more value to the team then McKenzie does/would? Judging by the 4 sessions so far I would say no...

Fielding and catching in particular is a basic fundamental skill required of a 1st class cricket player. Khan cannot catch... and it isn't going to get any easier in terms of pressure either...

I must've missed that one. I did see Duminee drop a catch too. (And Amla, though that was really a very sharp chance)

I must've also missed the catch that Khan did take.

Luckily no other test cricketer has ever dropped a catch.

Sorry but this is not a fair comparison. Mckenzie has been in the squad for a very long time and has had a good run up untill recent. He was given a whole series in Aus to show his metal and quite frankly, he squandered the oportunity. Hell they even persisted with him when they came home.

Give the guy a chance to get used to the "BIG STAGE". People under estimate the effect of playing for your country against the "Worlds Best".

Look all we are saying is he will have to sharpen up, not "Drop the foooooking retard ZMOG !!@!@!@#!@ E!"

I feel that he was pushed in maybe a seasont o early but thats just me, he looked good against them in the warmup game, and yesterday he did not look all that bad barring against the leg spin.

So maybe he should go ask uncle harris how to improve his fielding ;)

Who would you have suggested open the batting though? He's not permanent yet, he's a temporary replacement for Biff.

Anyway 204/2 now :) Ashwell is going great, what boggles me is how they could drop him in the first place.

He was injured and then he never made the squad.
Khan dropped one catch big deal, it could have happened to anyone.
And his dismissal wasnt that bad, good catch from the bowler.
Lets hope he doesnt stuff up again:p

We know he was injured. The point is how can the vice captain be dropped after recovery and somebody like Mckenzie retains his place. Morne Morkel came straight back into the squad after injury - so did Boucher and Smith. If SA wins this match, does it mean that Smith should be dropped?
