LOL, so close to becoming the next Mick Lewis :D

At moment its the worst ever...if he doesn't get 5 wickets tomorrow then he'd better hope he gets another job in IT.

btw re referral system. This one was likely to have been out, but the 3rd ump has to have 'conclusive' evidence to overrule, which there wasn't in this case...esp with looking at it for so long.
This , and the lack of successfull referrals by SA , is an indication that it does not work.

kallis goes in disappointing fashion - again!
you sometimes get the feeling kallis sees his ton as proving,
of his critics wrong... as if he's happy to go now that the job is done *sigh*

Aggg he went out so what :).

I think mcgain must come back fighting and i don't think one bad test will rule him out for good.

what was that Aussie awhile back who hit for something like 120 in an ODI game? did he ever make a cum back?

The Aussies didn't put much effort into their bowling. They basically gave this match to us.

We would never have gotten 3 centuries in one of the other 2 tests.

Six wickets for Harris, nine in the match. No doubt we'll have the DJ in here telling us he needs to be replaced. :)

Three matches each from the two series - a fair reflection, but disappointing for us after we took the early lead away from home.

Johnson is astounding.

And now we have to wait till November for the next test. :(

EDIT: engelbrecht

Engelbrecht is an amazing fielder. He's at least on a par with AB in the skills department. He's an exciting talent for SA. Did you not watch last year's U19 World Cup that he played in? They repeated one of his catches on suspersport for weeks after that. Was one of the best catches I've ever seen...

That waddling little duck-man really pissed me of today, taking all those bloody wickets... Drop him...:p

Nah, he bowled really well and I'm happy to concede that he bowled better than JP could have. Well done to him and I'm happy to eat my words considering the win. I still don't think he's a world class spinner but he seems to be doing the job well enough so far. Overall it was a clinically played match by South Africa. Goes to show how formidable the squad is when they're mostly in form, even without some key players.

I still think he's a useless tosser but I'm glad he's getting some lucky wickets...:D

One day batsmen are going to start taking him seriously, and then he'll lose his effectiveness. :)

On Englebrecht: Is there any suggestion that he is in line for a place in the actual team? Or is he just there as a specialist replacement fielder?

Tough one that. He hasn't had much of a chance to prove himself domestically yet so his averages are, well, pretty poor actually. I reckon he's certainly just in the team as a specialist fielder for now but I hope to see him putting in some big performances domestically this year. His spin isn't much to write home about, nor is his batting though if I'm honest about the little I have seen of him so far...

Yep looks like I'll have to retract calling him a tail ender, seems to be a genuine all rounder. I must admit it was great watching him bat (after Ronald got out) knowing that we had the game sealed

He had a pitch and conditions that benefited him, 1 in 100 that he wont be as good on any other pitch around the world... Johnson gave him a run.

But well done to him, an unlikely result, lucky for SA;)

Well done SA, great win & great performance. Lets hope you can carry that momentum through to the ODI's

If you really believe that, then you clearly do not know the Australian Cricket Team. They are the 1 team that are known to never let up in any situation.

As for the Harris comments.... I was listening to an interesting discussion by the radio commentator (Jackman & ?), in which they were saying that Harris may not be the most talented player, but he always gives 110%. They used his fielding as example of how hard he has worked to stay in the Test team.

unlikely result? 3 each and your saying unlikely.

What is lucky about destroying your opponents?
