We will need two bigish centuries from the 4 batsmen (Kallis, amla, duminy, ab). And then some tail wagging :D

No we need no tail wagging today, we need kallis and amla to get us over the 250 mark and from there we need to set goals and make sure we keep wickets in hand. Problem is kallis is in and this is where he has been going out for the last year, i sure hope he can push past the 30's. Kallis is a due a big score and i hope today is the day he gets it.

Tail wagging = no good :)

yes, keep the tail far away from the pitch. We need a 150 type innings from one of Amla and Kallis and just descent scores from JP and AB and we should be in the clear.

First milestone reached, need less than 250. (tick)

Amla gone :(

Siddle to Amla, OUT, Australia get the breakthrough they so badly needed, Siddle angles it towards middle and off and Amla shapes to flick it across the line but he fails to keep the ball down and tamely chips it to Hughes at short square-leg, very easy catch for the fielder
HM Amla c Hughes b Siddle 57 (130b 7x4 0x6) SR: 43.84

McDonald to de Villiers, OUT, Referral: there's an appeal for a leg before and the umpire is convinced, however Kallis is doubtful at the other end and indicates to de Villiers that he should challenge it, the ball lands on a good length outside off and comes in with the angle, the ball clips his pad within the line of the stumps so no doubt there, Asad Rauf reckoned that would have bit the legstump, Bowden raises the finger again
AB de Villiers lbw b McDonald 3 (7b 0x4 0x6) SR: 42.85

No we in trouble all is not lost yet.

JP and kallis need a huge partnership now. As long as kallis sticks around we have hope.

Why are the commentators so negative?

Even before we lost the 2 wickets they were 80% sure we cant score 250 runs one day?
I thought we had a very very good chance to get it, till we lost the wickets, I mean 90 overs a day... 250 runs its less than 3 runs a over...

Now I think we should just start pushing the run rate... We wont be able to bat out the day, can just aswell go BIG or go home... If it pays off we win, if it doesnt we loose, but this pushing the ball around for zeros is waiting to get out...

Sly because 454 has never been chased and the way this test has gone alot of wickets have fallen in the morning session.

If we can get through this morning session without another wicket down we will be in a good position.

Once again Kallis fails to push on and now barring a miracle we are finished.

I think those two quick wickets have forced a change of view to now saving the game.

EDIT: Ja neh, make that three wickets :(

Sox i think the biggest problem is we went out and looked to bat slowly. Rotate the strike and play your shots when you can.

There is no ways we where going to last the entire day and if we take that attitude now we will lose.

I think again its a story of SA not wanting to lose as opposed to wanting to win.
