Yea i am sure if dstv had access to the hd broadcast they would broadcast it because f1 is huge. Maybe there is something like to many camera's to capture the hd or something.

Football and the like generally have one camera angle through out the game, where as formula1 could have 10-20 camera's if not more, may be a logistical thing in terms of hd, this is a guess though.

Good point.

James Allan said last year on ITV that the FIA is looking into switching to HD from 2010.

Wow interesting quali session and webber just shows why predicting before quali is pointless.

I would have had in the top 8 for sure had i predicted like i did in the first 2 races before quali.

i REALLY hope the sandstorm doesn't spoil the event.

It is a case of redflag immediately and also a sand storm is not something that blows quickly over.

Halfpoints again? I hope not!

Yip. Brawn definitely the team to beat. I thought Toyota would do better, but Button is definitely the driver of the moment. :p

Good race showed hamilton how to break late. Vettel got unlucky and any chance of winning was gone when he got stuck behind the slow hamilton.

This kers should only be allowed to be used after the start i think

Yea the people who said button has no talent i hope feel different now, he did not have the fastest car this weekend, that move on Hamilton was just amazing, you could see how much he need to get by hamilton. That move on hamilton made hamilton look well below average and jenson is just so smooth and never makes any mistakes unlike hamilton. Must be the silkiest driver in f1.

Only vettel will stop him being champion this year and i cannot wait to see the revised packages from redbull and brawn.

I have to disagree there, Hamilton had the better drive under the circumstances. Button had the fast car but still, he drove like an ace. Massa was the most pathetic of the lot IMO. Didn't look like an almost wc at all. Him and Kimi have Ferrari and the FIA to thank for the last two years performances.

Dude you could say that about many drivers who do not have the car to drive it home and massa does not have the car, he had some issue with kerz yesterday and that early unexpected pitstop put him out the running.

Button did nothing of note in the old honda car, it had no pace end of story. I believe in F1 apart from guys like senna and shummi it is all about the car. Anyone can do well in a good fast car. Some just never get the chance to show their stuff because they drive for the force india's and what not. Massa drove just as well as hamilton last year if you ask me, apart from people thinking the FIA are out to get mclaren i thought most of hamilton's penalties where deserved.

Mclaren do not know the rules for some odd reason, like if you cut a curner do not overtake before the next one, if a car goes off the road under safety condition your allowed to pass, these are not hard rules, these are basic rules they seem not to know and then cry foul because they did not do their job and did not read f1 rules for dummies. Red light means stop in most countries and that in f1 :p

Sorry dude, but anyone who really follows racing and F1 in particular understands what the FIA brings to the table. There is a big political and marketing engine under the hood of the 'sport'. I have spent 10 years as a sports journalist for a print racing mag and have had the opportunity to meet most of the oldies - admittedly I have been out of the racing scene as a reporter for 3 years now, but the fundamentals won't change.
Believe it or not, the FIA does get involved 'in the interest of racing'. This year has been one of the most obvious. Last year was too.
One doesn't have to like Hamilton to know that he is probably one the top 3 talents of the past 20 years. Whether it pans out for him or not may even depend on whether the folks at the top actually like him or think he is good for their pockets in the long run believe it or not.
Having said that, there is so much they can do and no more. I feel free to say these things because I don't earn my keep in the sport anymore but for years I saw guys keep their comments to themselves despite the obvious stuff happening simply because you don't get invited back very easily if you offend the F1 gods. It's a sad fact.
Anyway, I have no trouble with your opinions, that's what makes discussion great, I suspect you belong to the camp who dislike Hamilton because of his forward attitude, he has guaranteed that he is the kind you will like or dislike, little between. I for one love the flavour he has brought to a sport that for so many years has been ruled and run by wusses. I still fancy most of the current grid would lose hands down to Jackie Stewart in a real car with real pedals... F1 doesn't make drivers, in fact I fancy many lose their edge after racing hi tech. Hopefully the FIA will start doing their job and make the rules clearer... perhaps next year we can give the low downforce designs another try.
As for McLaren and the rules, it's not about the book, it's about the temporary stewards' interpretation at the time. Believe me. Asking CW for guidance is part of the process so that you can have that to fall back to if there is an argument. Even that didn't help them at Spa when Hamilton took Kimi after leaving the track. Small reasons for doubt give the FIA the power to throw the championship. They exercise that power... 'in the interest of racing'. There is a reason the rule book uses phrases like 'gained advantage'... leaves it open to interpretation.

I can't believe Toyota F'ed it up so badly. Shocking strategy.
