Brawn were negligent in letting Barrichello race when he clearly knew the suspension was giving in IMO.

Considering the Massa accident, the race officials were going to be VERY concerned about ANY components that come of cars. And when you consider that this was due to negligence and not mechanical failure, the penalty is stiff but fair IMO.

They are appealing it though.

Yea very good i think, the minute they knew the tyre was going to come off they should have told alonso to park the car.

That was very dangerous, for him too carry on with it eventually coming off could have ended very poorly. When it came off it could easily have bounced and hit him on the head even.

Link?

From the replays Barrichelo was going around that corner at race speed, which I doubt he would do if he knew the suspension was coming loose. IMO, it was just a suspension failure, no negligence. But I'm sure an investigation is underway.

Well if they did know and send Barrichello out anyway then i'm sure it will come to light. So far though it's an 'accident'

Barrichelo knew there was problem?

Here we go:
http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/77281
Rubens Barrichello: I lost the whole central damper of the car. The car this morning had a lot of fuel and it felt quite good. This afternoon it felt a bit strange, vertically the car was moving a bit. And we suspected since the beginning of qualifying that it was starting to go. Eventually it went completely on that lap, because I had a lap of traffic which I had to abort and that lap, as soon as I braked for Turn 1, it was very, very bad. I still did an okay time through sector one, but when I went into Turn 3 I felt the rear collapse.

I had no control over the rear suspension; it was like it was solid. It was then that I radioed and said I was coming in. It felt like I lost a big chunk of ride height because the car was touching the ground, and on the TV from the videos it looks like that was what went into Felipe's head. The whole thing just went bang.
Barrichello and Brawn knew there was a problem that got worse until the suspension broke.

4 weeks, actually... and please, not that pillock Schumi again... although it would be nice to see Kimi smear the floor with him in the same car.

Shame i doubt it, kimi can barely smear massa, how would he smear shummi :D

Would be very interesting but maybe massa makes a recovery and races in 4 weeks time who knows.

Yes, I know it's a dream... no way Ferrari would give Kimi the hardware to be able to take on their mighty icon.

From what I've seen on itv.f1 and BBC's F1 page, it seems highly unlikely that Massa will be back this year, if at all. He definitely won't be on the grid in Valencia.

Who watched Schumi wipe the floor at the top gear test track in his Ferrari FSX? 1 Mil pounds sterling for that car and they keep it for you at Ferrari to drive when you want ha ha ha!

He beat the previous record on the track by 7 seconds prompting me to believe he wasn't ever the stig but just a media stint for an episode...

Proves my theory of superior equipment - thanks ;)

The noise that FXX makes is epic, though!

Agreed enigma but 7 seconds is epic which ever way you look at it - driver or equipment. Still nothing to go by until it's head to head in the same car. Race of champions is the coolest thing out for that - Schumi lost to Vettel last time around :p
