They rest him, cricket players need more than 5 days to rest from what i can tell.

I mean seriously all that running they do for 8 hours must need alot of rest. I think soccer players run more in 20 minutes of footie than a cricket player does in a whole day of cricket :p

Shame it seems they're even fighting in the change room.
About songs.
Katich and Clarke admit to dressing-room disagreement

February 6, 2009

Michael Clarke and Simon Katich have confirmed that they were involved in a dressing-room altercation after the Sydney Test against South Africa, but said they had moved on from the incident. The Daily Telegraph reported that the players argued over the singing of the team song, Beneath the Southern Cross, and had to be pulled apart by team-mates.

Clarke reportedly wanted it to be completed early so he could leave for a family function. "Yes, we had a disagreement after the Sydney Test," Clarke told the paper. "This kind of thing occasionally happens in cricket teams.

"We didn't see eye to eye on that night, but we have been team-mates at New South Wales and Australia a long time. We've spoken since, including catching up the other night at the Allan Border Medal. There's no issue between us."

Katich agreed with Clarke. "I've spoken to Michael as recently as today and we're both big enough and old enough to have moved on from this," Katich said. "Michael and I are focused on some tough Test cricket that's coming up for Australia against South Africa in a couple of weeks."

The Cricket Australia spokesman Peter Young said the organisation had no concerns about the incident. "Yeah there was a blue," he told AAP. "It happened after the last day of the Sydney Test and those guys have since made up and moved on.

"From our point of view as far as we are concerned it is an issue between two individuals and they have resolved it and moved on. These things happen in even the best of families from time to time, but everyone gets over it and moves on."

While we're all having fun with the demise of Auz, the Indians are slowly creeping closer...

If my calculations are correct (India will probably white-wash SL), NZ needs to win at least 2 ODI's against India in the next series, otherwise we'll be uncrowned (until the Ausies tour SA again :D)

I think if the aussies lose the series to NZ even if they come to SA and beat us they would not go above us.

They've won a good few world cups, we haven't.
Rating doesn't mean that much.

But it does look as though we aren't "chokers" anymore.:)

Rating does mean alot, just because you win a few world cups and play like crap for the next 4 years does that mean you should always be number because you won a world cup?

The rating system is in place because the world cup is a comp just like any other series through-out the year.

I reckon a World cup win means more than carrying around the number one rating for a long long time.

Ask the All Blacks.

I wasn't referring to the Ausies regaining #1. I'm worried about the Indians - they are playing really well at the moment. The Ausies might even drop to #6 if they lose every game up to the SA tour.

Ask the All Blacks.

Winning a WC means you've peaked at the right time and yes it does carry a lot of weight, but ranking #1 (and maintaining it) means you're the best in the world.

Thats what i am saying, alf regardless of whether the all blacks win world cups we all know they are about the best team and have been for sometime, i do not think for one second just because SA won the rugby world cup that we are the best. Your the best because you whip ass most of the time.

Yeah, we've been #1 a few times already, gone 20 games undefeated before.
Nice few records.

I want a world cup now.

I still think the aussies let us have the no1 spot before the world cup because they knew we could not handle pressure.

Now i cannot wait for the world cup as only India can stop us :p

Yep - I did a similar calculation. At the beginning of the Ind/SL series I thought a whitewash for India would've been unlikely, but they are looking pretty awesome atm.

Which is more important, number one ranking or the world cup? It doesn't matter, we can only play for number one at the moment (until the next world cup).

I think number is better than a comp every 4 years, the world cup is very random if you ask me and you can lose to any half decent team.

Look at how unlucky we have been in the past, if you can get to number 1 and maintain a number spot it means your playing great cricket and cricket is not all about 1 off games you could easily lose or win. Being number one means you have done well for an extended period, hopefully it means we could win the world cup :p as well.
