Not really, the first sales phase is a random draw for oversubscribed tickets i.e. you can apply for tickets for the final between now and the 31 March and there will be a lottery for who gets tickets.

Ahhh, ok. Thanks for the explanation.

p.s. could you lot get off the FIFA site, you're slowing it down for me!:D

no point in going nuts for tickets today, most of the games are going to go to a draw, so might as well apply when the hype cools off

Its the biggest sporting event world wide. People save 4 years to try and get tickets for it. R1050 isn't bad considering how many people want a ticket to it.

the biggest bargain is the opening match in cape town
if you get to watch the first match in cape town i.e at night, after the opening match/ceremony at soccer city for R140 then its a major bargain of a lifetime.

Just think of what it costs to watch an international rugby game! This is a serious bargain!

in Beijing they used planes to do something to the clouds so that it minimized the chance of rain during the opening ceremony!

Cape Town should do the same for each match

So how many tickets has been sold?

None. All that has happened is lots of people applied. We only know who gets the 750 000 tickets up for grabs in this phase when the lucky draw happens on 15 April.
