how does this work? you order the tickets and they take the money whenever it gets approved, say tomorrow, or you order the tickets and they charge you after its approved after the window has closed, 22 jan 2010?:confused:

the prices seems to expensive :( GJ Fifa, hosting a tournament that the people can't afford!

Its a lot cheaper than the tickets were for germany 2006. Seeing as 90% of tickets have already been sold would suggest people can afford the tickets.

I have tickets for 4 group games and applied for the final, round of 16 and another group game yesterday.

This works like phase one. You have time till 22 January to apply then they draw the names and you either get tickets or not. If you get tickets they deducted from your card .

From what they say, around a million tickets released for this phase.
Very few for the final and opening, so it's gonna be a lucky draw!!!

My 85 year old gran just "applied" for some tickets. Hopes she gets some! :D

The tickets allocated for SA citizens are dirt cheap and and good seats, from what FIFA say, they on the corners of the stadium, prob 2nd tier in most stadiums.

Just applied for my tickets!! The thing I find funny is that they say if you are successful, they will process the payment immediatly, however you may have not received the notification of such.

So I must expect a knock of card to come out of the blue

What if you apply to 2 games but only want to go to one. Are you able to not accept them if you are successful?

I want to take my kids to 1 of the first round games and have applied for England - Algeria. I'm thinking I should apply for another one to be safe but don't really want to have to pay for both if I'm approved for both.

Any ideas?

I've applied for both Slovenia & England as my main one as England is my homeland...and I applied for Germany & Serbia both in PE. They won't charge you unless you have been selected (the draw is 10 Feb 2010). Then you pay for the ones you win. Easy

The gf knows the MD of the SA branch of a multinational company. She offered her WC tickets for any match next year, so it looks like we'll be attending the final :D

Wonder if there is a way to increase my chances in the lucky draw??? I'm assuming all tickets will be oversubscribed. But to what extend?

Lets say 5 billion people are eligible to apply for Cat 1,2,3 while only 45mil people are eligible to apply for Cat 4, since cat 4 is avail only to S.Africans. Should I assume therefore, that cat 4 is my better bet? Since its also very concievable that of the 45 mil people in SA, as a % a shyte load of us will apply for Cat 4 tickets (given the price); However if only a fraction of the 5 bil (rest of the world) apply, that's still a shyte load of apps. Question is which will be more oversubscribed???

In addition can I increase my chances applying for a higher Cat ticket vs Cat 4; since if I dont get drawn in the Cat 4 lot, will I get a another 2 chances if I apply for say Cat 2, i.e. I will go into the Cat 3 lot, then again in the Cat 4 lot???

Also its highly concievable that the most oversubscribed Cat will be Cat 3; (since cat 4 is avail only to S.Africans). And cat 3 is the least expensive of categories 1, 2, 3. However there is probably more Cat 4 seats vs Cat 3 seats vs Cats 2 seats vs Cat 1 seats. So how does seat numbers influence my chances ???

Please someone that understands the draw & is a magician in stats; HELP! . I dont want to miss out again

Rather look at the matches. The games with the smaller teams involved will have less people applying for . WC final will have the most fans trying to get a ticket. Look at applying for smaller sides like chile, slovakia, slovenia, honduras, ect. They won't have lots of neutrals and big tour groups so you have a better chance to get tickets for their games.

No if you apply for both and get accepted for both you have to take both, you can't decide afterwards you only want the one game.

I want to apply as a Foreign Citizen but I currently reside in SA. Does that mean I have to apply as a SA national?
