I bought a brand new 2012 Hyundai Elantra 1.8 GLS April 2012 for about US$18k. It has Auto transmission, its kitted with Bluetooth stereo system.

[Irrelevant]I haven't had many cars in my lifetime, I had 2003 Alfa Romeo 156 2.0 Twinspark, drove like a dream and cost my a fortune until I couldn't fix it anymore and gave it to the mechanic for free. As if I did not learn a my lesson, then I bought 2005 Renault Laguna(diesel), cost me retail price to fix, never liked the car as it drove like a tractor but its not a thief magnet.[/Irrelevant]

Back on topic. After nearly 3 year with the Hyundai Elantra, this car is damn reliable. I've put about 96560km on the car and it still runs like its new. The Elantra is highly underrated, I would say the engine is bullet proof, I driver the car daily as if I'm on the race track(still a bit considerate to the law and fellow drivers). I've been involved in two minor accidents, I was not at fault :D . I'm also care free, having done a 9 month, 32000 km stretch without performing a single maintenance/oil change on the car. I have opened the front bonnet, twice to add wiper fluid. And off course change tires

If i was a bit more careful driver and timely with the maintenance I would say this car would probably do another 100k km with relative ease. When making your next vehicle purchase, do consider a Hyundai Elantra(Auto Transmission), it served me well and I doubt that it is an anomaly.

Any other Hyundai owners out there?

I have an Elantra 1.6

It is not sporty, which is why I think alot of people on this forum will probably hate it. (Based on the few car comments I've seen here, people seem to think if it doesn't have a turbo, it has no soul... :p )

But it is comfortable, economical and I can fit the pram and baby stuff in the huge boot. :) Plus, in the price range when we bought, there was not much competition. Kia.. something, or a Honda Ballade 1.5 was about it.

As a tall guy, I think the driving side is also nice and roomy. I can put the seat all the way back, and someone is still able to sit behind me. Maybe not comfortably, but they do fit.

Similar story with my Kia Cerato which is pretty much a Hyundai underneath. Turning 5 year old soon and it hasn't missed a beat and looks good as new.

Best ownership experience I have had so far compared to VW, Ford, Toyota and Audi.

Yup. ix35. Diesel. Apart from a smaller boot than my Jetta, it's almost as good. Way more powerful. Loves the open road. Nowhere near as economical as my Hetton a solid, reliable car otherwise.
