I bought a brand new 2012 Hyundai Elantra 1.8 GLS April 2012 for about US$18k. It has Auto transmission, its kitted with Bluetooth stereo system.
[Irrelevant]I haven't had many cars in my lifetime, I had 2003 Alfa Romeo 156 2.0 Twinspark, drove like a dream and cost my a fortune until I couldn't fix it anymore and gave it to the mechanic for free. As if I did not learn a my lesson, then I bought 2005 Renault Laguna(diesel), cost me retail price to fix, never liked the car as it drove like a tractor but its not a thief magnet.[/Irrelevant]
Back on topic. After nearly 3 year with the Hyundai Elantra, this car is damn reliable. I've put about 96560km on the car and it still runs like its new. The Elantra is highly underrated, I would say the engine is bullet proof, I driver the car daily as if I'm on the race track(still a bit considerate to the law and fellow drivers). I've been involved in two minor accidents, I was not at fault
. I'm also care free, having done a 9 month, 32000 km stretch without performing a single maintenance/oil change on the car. I have opened the front bonnet, twice to add wiper fluid. And off course change tires
If i was a bit more careful driver and timely with the maintenance I would say this car would probably do another 100k km with relative ease. When making your next vehicle purchase, do consider a Hyundai Elantra(Auto Transmission), it served me well and I doubt that it is an anomaly.
Any other Hyundai owners out there?
