So which Northern teams will be our Achilles heel?

By going with the last 5 matches against each team.

Ireland:

10 November 2012 - 12 – 16 South Africa
06 November 2010 - 21 – 23 South Africa
28 November 2009 - 15 – 10 Ireland
11 November 2006 - 32 – 15 Ireland
13 November 2004 - 17 – 12 Ireland

England:

24 November 2012 - 15 – 16 South Africa
23 June 2012 - 14 – 14 Draw
16 June 2012 - 36 – 27 South Africa
09 June 2012 - 22 – 17 South Africa
27 November 2010 11 – 21 South Africa

Italy:

08 June 2013 - 44 – 10 South Africa
26 June 2010 - 55 – 11 South Africa
19 June 2010 - 29 – 13 South Africa
21 November 2009 - 10 – 32 South Africa
21 June 2008 - 26 – 0 South Africa

Wales:

21 June 2014 - 31 – 30 South Africa
14 June 2014 - 38 – 16 South Africa
09 November 2013 - 15 – 24 South Africa
11 September 2011 - 17 – 16 South Africa
13 November 2010 - 25 – 29 South Africa

We have little exposure against the Leprechauns over the last years, but they surely look like keeping the game really tight. Ireland lost against Italy in the Six Nations, but managed to win both France and Wales.

Quite excited about the NZ/USA game, too. Will be interesting to see a sold out game there.

OK, picks are due for the weekend. I have a few ideas here:

Japan vs NZ Maori
At (11), Japan is lingering on the edge of achievement and the amount of imported talent must surely have lifted the national game. What they lack in size, they more than make up for in cohesion. The Maoris? They're big and dominant but they're almost a novelty act these days. In previous games, they've only ever met Japan once and destroyed them (6 years ago).

Barbarians vs Arsetrailia
The Barbarian team may as well be drawn from Kurtly Beale's favourite pubs and while the mutton-fückers may not be at their best, they'll probably take it.

USA vs New Zealand
Go Team America, World Police - big Uncle Sam to tear these buck-toothed inbreeders a new hole. Okay, only kidding...

I called Japan, bargaining on:

15 June 2013 : Japan 23–08 Wales
21 June 2014 : Japan 26–23 Italy

My other picks are obvious.

Yeah - that was indeed the problem - historical performance. Japan, we can surmise, but AB Moari team is a bit of a dark horse. The official site shows some impressive statistics. The only 3 teams that they have never defeated are us, NZ and Wales. Lemme find the page...

...here it is. And on Wiki, where I learnt of their performance.

I checked the team earlier, it is like the pushing the All Black second team, mixed with their domestic premier championship players.
