Fans of a team get angry and feel disappointed when their team looses. Opposition fans get joy out of seeing an opposing team loosing. Which one are you?
On a serious note this is a very perplexing comment. Extremely perplexing. As Bok fans I would imagine the majority on this forum are South Africans in South Africa (including those who've since emigrated .. or should I say gone back home). Visit as many shisa-nyamas as you can in every corner of the country on a weekend when the Boks have lost, plus both Chiefs&Pirates have been beaten too to see just how much is raked in.

I will probably have a talk with Frans, but I think it’s up to him. He has ruled himself out. But I’ve said it’s about me or egos – we have to go and win the World Cup. So, I will do whatever it takes, even if I have to speak to Jaque Fourie – whatever it takes, I will do.
This portrays everything that's wrong in this country. Locally we have hundreds of loyal&patriotic South Africans playing rugby at the highest level, and many of them are putting their hands up for selection.

NZ, ENG, AUS, FRA, WAL&IRE would never do this, bowing down to players. At least I doubt very much they would.

Shakes Mashaba the Bafana Bafana coach recently ensured the player (May Mahlangu) who turned his back on the side would never be selectied again again or be involved at international level in any way shape or form with the country. And that particular player is easily one of the best if not the best we have available. His presence alone would raise Bafana to greater heights. Yet here we have Heyneke willing to do everything he can to reward the less deserving ahead of those deserving.

Plenty players shunned call ups made by that joke of a coach Gordon Igesund. But when Mashaba was appointed he didn't forget how those experienced older stars behaved towards Igesund. He left them all out and rebuilt with youngsters. Look how far they've grown in a short space of time. I'm confident Bafana will be refined during AFCON even though they won't win it. They will go on to qualify for the World Cup and by then these youngsters will without doubt be Africa's hope at Russia 2018.

Heyneke could have done the same. Forget all overseas professionals, cull the experienced players and rebuild with a view towards RWC 2015. He's spent most of his time sucking up to disloyal players and coaxing octogenarians out of retirement. Try to build using spent forces. That Heyneke is a joke I say. Absolute joke!

Shakes Mashaba said:
When I took up this position, I spoke a lot about patriotism which for me is paramount. If tomorrow the player is not considered and the media asks why, here is the reason.

Thanks for the link...just about says it all doesn't it.

To be honest though there's a couple of names there that I don't care for and who I thought were k@k anyway but nevertheless it's pretty damn eye-opening and sad to see just how many quality players we've lost.

Can't blame the players for opting out though. Good money and best of all NO POLITICAL BS.
The only players who can complain about politics are Chiliboy, Jantjies, Ashley Johnson&Aplon. Under-appreciated and forced to leave even though they were still good enough for the Boks.

Others like De Jong with enough skill&creativity have been sidelined due to Heyneke's limited&narrow-minded perception about players. Yes sand_man.

Both fans should question themselves as should Heyneke. I'm not sure a lot of the pretenders that have been recycled in the green jersey over the years are really that good. Certainly not that good to have been consistently selected ahead of some of these names.

The exact same thing happens in cricket. How many chances did Quinton de Kock get to fail while being persisted with? What about Colin Ingram, David Miller, and now Rossouw, soon van Zyl or Jacques Rudolph before them.

There's a disturbingly disproportionate amount of patience&expectation extended towards certain personalities not others, despite being very poor or average.

Makhaya Ntini never survived even a tiny fraction of the patience that has been repeatedly extended to Morkel. Tsolekile was never tried beyond a few innings he failed in. If Mthokozisi Shezi had been given the same chance in ODIs and produced the same poor record as Abbott has right now no one would focus on the fact that's he's economical too. Only that he must be dropped. #FACT Smith threatened to resign when noises were made about Faf being dropped, but he said no such thing when an excellent Prince was dropped, and only injury ever prevented a very poor Boucher form being dropped. Smith always stood by him.

There will be noises made about the inclination of my thoughts, but never dare deny their truthfulness. In the eyes of many fans and like-minded coaches&administrators at the helm - there is one law for others, and another for the rest. Simply reading through countless comments all over is proof that in sports, rugby+cricket in particular certain individuals are by default seen through different eyes regardless of their abilities or potential.

WTF are you on about? I have no idea how you comment relates to mine.

I'm saying people in this thread are sad and angry when the boks lose. You laugh and feel satisfied with your "told you so"-attitude.

No idea what drinking spots that do well have to do with it.

He's like a red rag to a bull, but I'm going to take a leaf out of Gregory's book and ignore the troll. His style is so clear now. He'll come here and rip through peoples honest emotions and then feign indignation when the replies come back with the inevitable insults.

Not worth it.
