The only players who can complain about politics are Chiliboy, Jantjies, Ashley Johnson&Aplon. Under-appreciated and forced to leave even though they were still good enough for the Boks.
Others like De Jong with enough skill&creativity have been sidelined due to Heyneke's limited&narrow-minded perception about players. Yes sand_man.
Both fans should question themselves as should Heyneke. I'm not sure a lot of the pretenders that have been recycled in the green jersey over the years are really that good. Certainly not that good to have been consistently selected ahead of some of these names.
The exact same thing happens in cricket. How many chances did Quinton de Kock get to fail while being persisted with? What about Colin Ingram, David Miller, and now Rossouw, soon van Zyl or Jacques Rudolph before them.
There's a disturbingly disproportionate amount of patience&expectation extended towards certain personalities not others, despite being very poor or average.
Makhaya Ntini never survived even a tiny fraction of the patience that has been repeatedly extended to Morkel. Tsolekile was never tried beyond a few innings he failed in. If Mthokozisi Shezi had been given the same chance in ODIs and produced the same poor record as Abbott has right now no one would focus on the fact that's he's economical too. Only that he must be dropped. #FACT Smith threatened to resign when noises were made about Faf being dropped, but he said no such thing when an excellent Prince was dropped, and only injury ever prevented a very poor Boucher form being dropped. Smith always stood by him.
There will be noises made about the inclination of my thoughts, but never dare deny their truthfulness. In the eyes of many fans and like-minded coaches&administrators at the helm - there is one law for others, and another for the rest. Simply reading through countless comments all over is proof that in sports, rugby+cricket in particular certain individuals are by default seen through different eyes regardless of their abilities or potential.
