You're missing the point, some days you want to be in a comfortable kinda boring smooth no fuss car. Other days you want something raw where you can feel the tarmac, something that rewards the hooligan inside you but that gets tiring in everyday live.
A hot hatch originally was a car that tried to be everything to every man. Comfortable family cruiser great for everyday life and work and also a weekend toy. The type R is only one part of the hot hatch to me, the weekend toy. That's all I was trying to say.
Unless all out speed and mad styling is the only thing you want but why would you buy a hot hatch then?
Makes sense, if you want to have a chill Sunday drive with the kids in the back, this car is not the one. But it's not what you said originally.
"...would just look out of place next to the Merc & Audi's". Ahem.
Anyway I wouldn't buy it myself cause it's not practical, but for people without kids and dogs it looks like a fun car. The styling is crazy, which fits the personality of someone that would want to drive it. My grandma wouldn't love the styling, and she would never buy it. This Indian friend I have at work though...well, the turbo is so big it sucks girls' panties off! Give it to me!
