I have a sunroof, and it's the biggest waste of cash IMO.

I rarely open it. I rarely have the cover open. I could kick myself for getting one with it -_-

You might be able to negotiate with them.
I wasn't going to go with a sunroof, but for the colour I wanted (white) they only had one with a sunroof in stock, so they threw in the sun roof for free.

We are looking at Signal Red, which was not available, except for an auto w/sunroof on the floor. Will definitely try to negotiate.

You have a point there, which is why I am not really considering the sunroof, as I ask myself if I would every actually use it or not?

There is actually an article on this in the latest Car magazine and from what I can remember, 4 out of 4 journalists preferred the Rio and said that they still prefer the interior, exterior and drive over the new i20.

I would go for a Fiesta personally (only because I've owned one for about a year now and still love it) but the Rio is a cracking little car :D many happy miles!

Yes read that article rather surprised the (older) Rio beat the (newer) i20.

New i20 took away lots of extras from its predecessor. most NB prob being only dual front airbags.

As the f/lift Rio is *so* minor the smart money; I would think; is for a person to buy a low mileage 1/2yr old top line Tec-model for way less than new.

I definitely agree, buying a brand new car, especially in this class is not financially viable, whereas buying a demo, or something with 10k on the clock gets you the same car, same motorplan, for a lot less money at the end of the day, and because it's not a "sports" car, how much damage could the previous owner do with a 1.4?

I see you have already made a decision... Just some points (some personal) that i have.

- Hyundai\Kia are going to be releasing a 1.0T for these models sometime this year.
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/cars/hyundai/i20/
http://www.newcarsnews.com/2016-hyundai-i20/

- The current i20 is a completely new model so this design will stay for another +- 6 years whereas the Rio is a face-lifted version and you can probably be expecting a new design in +- 3 years.

- Kia has managed to squeeze more power out of the 1.4 than Hyundai (Same engine)

- I think the new i20 looks waaay better (personal opinion)

- I've driven both and can say there is not much difference as far as the drive is concerned. Hyundai is quieter.

As long as it has a full service history, you should go for it.
You would be buying a vehicle that has already lost most of it's value and is very reliable and economical.

I wish I had bought used instead of new.
