Good day All,

I purchased the car in 2019. Few months a go it started sounding really loud when starting the car. I've taken the car back to the dealer to have it checked out as the car is still under factory warranty. Only after the 3rd time they realized that the car sounds loud. They apparently fixed something yesterday...but car still sounds the same...really loud.

Does anybody know what it could be?

The First thing that comes to mind is that you have a hole somewhere in the exhaust system. Time to get a new system installed

My VW is noisy for the first few seconds and then quietens down - has to do with the oil circulation taking a few seconds to completely get to the top of the engine and fully lubricate the lifters and valves etc I suspect. Probably not this but is your oil level OK?

That sounds exactly like my wife. Only difference is there's no quieting down.

Could be oil rising to the top. My fiesta also does it.
@TheChamp what do you think?
My Corsa used to do it as well, no idea what happened to that problem, it's like it self corrected because I've never had it in a long while.

I changed to part synthetic some time ago, no idea if that has anything to do with the disappearance of the noise.

It's this. It's a known issue with the 1.0 TSI engine. It's loud at the best of times, but cold startup is rough.

It's a cold start, that sound it makes is normal, I use to work at a VW dealership. They all have that rough cold start sound.
