Brabus-built armoured Mercedes-AMG G63 with 588 kW now available in SA!
Ever wanted a Brabus-built armoured Mercedes-AMG G63 with a peak power output of 588 kW? Well, such a thing is now officially available in South Africa.
Yes, local vehicle-armouring firm SVI Engineering has been named the official distributor of Brabus Automotive armoured products in Africa.
First on the menu for well-heeled local buyers is the German company’s Invicto range, which comprises “high-end armoured versions of the latest Mercedes-Benz G-Class” and is produced by Brabus in Bottrop. The company says the Invicto “Shelter Cell” is created using hot-formed armouring steel plates and 3D-printed parts, with the ballistic protection level rated at VR6.
SVI Engineering has confirmed three versions will be available in South Africa. The first is dubbed “Pure”, with the exterior and interior remaining “as close to series production as possible”. Then there’s “Luxury”, which adds a bespoke interior along with fresh exterior elements and the option of performance upgrades. Finally, the most extreme “Mission” version includes items such as protection-vest-compatible seats, a digital rear display mirror, an intercom system and 20-inch off-road tyres.
SVI Engineering says the Pure and Luxury packages will each start at around R5,4-million, with the Mission kit kicking off at about R6,2-million. Note, however, that these prices are estimates and exclude the cost of the base vehicle (some R3 366 480 in the case of the G63), shipping and taxes. A two-year/100 000 km warranty, however, is provided by Brabus.
