I dislike the ausies, but dislike the English more. So hoping the ausies can come back in a big way second half.

Should be England from here on in. Apart from Korobete's try in the opening minutes, Australia just haven't looked like getting through England's defence. Beale has tried hard to spark something but he's been shut down pretty hard. As the minutes now tick down, the more desperate Australia will become and the more mistakes they're likely to make.

Feel for korobete. He's been Australia's best player by a mile. Well played England. Now then... To rib my Australian brother in law or let him off easy...

The Aussies are going to moan about the English having close to two weeks between the pool and knockout stages. I doubt that this changed anything.

England is too good, adapts too quickly to the opposition. Eddie Jones taught them well how to shut down their opponents.

To think that he was close to their worst player when he transitioned. Didn’t do good at Super Rugby, didn’t do well in the early tests, but now he has grown into union rugby. I wonder whether he will switch codes again?

Michael Cheika is out.

GG for England. Australia never able to get into the game after the two quick tries in the first half.

Rugby World Cup: Australia coach Michael Cheika drops f-bomb in final interview after World Cup exit
Controversial Wallabies coach Michael Cheika dropped an f-bomb in one of his final interviews in the role after his side were knocked out of the Rugby World Cup.

"I was supposed to get this done for the people here and for Australians. F***** so disappointed," Cheika said after his side's 40-16 defeat to England at Oita Stadium.

It is the third time Australia have been knocked out at the quarter-final stage, all by England.
