It's hardly a fairy tale if they were number one in the world rankings just over a month ago.
Number 1 - higher than the All Blacks ......

Here, I highlighted the part that hints at the context I used it in:

"fairy tale" ;)

And they weren't No.1 because they played so well. They became No.1 (for all of 2 seconds) because the AB's lost to us, Ireland, Aus -and drew later again with us.
Ireland walked into the tournament as No.1 ...but we all knew that wasn't true -same goes for Wales :)

Have a little faith, man.
We're going to smash them

I don't know what's going to happen in this game really.

I just wish we get one over Wales for a change. We always seem to be playing them when we're at our worst, last game of the season, usually. In the past we'd sneak a 2 or 5 point win, but they have gotten better in the last few years so that has now reversed somewhat.

That does not mean when both are 100% ready that they are necessarily better than us.

Agreed, I'm not entirely convinced of an easy Bok win. I'd love one but the Welsh aren't a bad team by any stretch. They're not in form but still dangerous. Having a punt on Boks by 1-12.

I see Wales has won the last 4 games between the two sides.

But they didn't look very flash at all this tournament.

Anyone ever consider that Faf deliberately gave the ball away in order for the team to sharpen up their defences which will be needed in the final?

Why would we play our best game and expose all our tactics before the final? These keyboard warriors assume they are better tacticians than what I consider to be our best Springbok team in more than a decade.

lol, no. No professional team does things like this.

"South Africa were just too physical - this is what finals footy is about. They just bashed the sh*t out of us.”

"They’re all about seven-foot-five. Besides the half-back, everyone else was a giant. They demolished our lineout and scrums at times. What can you do? You can’t ask to be bigger."

- Japan winger Lomano Lemeki offers a very frank appraisal of the Springboks' victory.

Actually, I heard new stats last night, it's 4 wins from 14 tests that he was the ref. Same result though, he hates out guts with a passion.

The game seems a lot less complicated compared to the last time I watched Rugby which was the previous World Cup

Let's hope that the night before the game his arsehole falls out and we then get a non snail/frog eating ref.
I just hope our discipline is on point. Beast wouldn't have gotten away with a yellow for his dip tackle if it was a french ref. The french red card pretty much cost them the game.

On another note - what do you call a Frenchman in the semi-finals of the world cup? A referee (apply water to burnt area)

A lot of people have questioned the yellow and whether it should have been red. But if it was supposed to be more than a yellow would there have been further action from the RWC disciplinary committee? Just wondering because I've not heard anything about that.

Think he got away with a just a yellow. Was a terrible tackle and I wouldn't hold it against the ref if he gave red. Don't think further action is needed though, it was picked up and punished for what it was.

Ok, so it was referees discretion. And the word discretion comes from the French word that translates to "make love to the Springboks".

You could tell by Beast's immediate reaction to it that he was pooping his pants. Definitely could've been a red, got really lucky with that.

It's about time we catch a lucky break on that front. It feels like we always get smacked with the rulebook while our competitors in black catch all the lucky breaks

Unlike that cheese eating surrender monkey beast didn't do it on purpose. You genuinely got the feeling he didn't mean to, it just happened.
