Doesn't help to be the biggest, bestest or nicerer than any other year if no one has money to buy it with.

Well, I have a brick or 2 lying around.

If we can get upset about something small and protest about it on black Friday, we can all shop for free!

PS: Bring your own brick....

:sneaky:
I believe bricks will be on special on the day but queue early!

I am predicting that retailers are still going to try peddle Xbox One S's and PS4's to unsuspecting suckers for R6999 bundled with a bazillion crappy games to hide the fact they are getting an old console

milk the little money people have left,
Milking people by selling things at a discounted rate?

I would say because the ANC has tanked the economy more so than usual this year, people are going to be even more desperate to buy stuff on special.

It all started with Takealot years ago
They were the idiots that started this stupid American tradition here in South Africa
The following year all the other shops joined in

How is it stupid?

The shops make lots of money, customers are happy to get stuff at a discounted price and the communists get to gloat at about how evil capitalism is by providing value to human beings.

Wanted to say similar, its a plot twist as the average person is more likely to be poorer than last year that they are more likely to spend more on those "specials" as a form of long term cost saving. Whether or not the value of the item at hand is truly discounted to be considered value for money is something else.

The shops get to up their prices during the year and then pretend to have specials.

Will wait for the real specials in January.
Exactly
January is the best, shops sit with surplus "Last years crap' and this costs rental money at R100 a square metre per month or whatever the going rate is these days.
Plus sales people didnt meet target for xmas holiday coz some ****er in China ate an undercooked bat and now we are all poor
And then on top of that it is now financial year end in Feb for some businesses.

Januworry is a very good time to buy as sales are generally low as people blew all their money in December and got paid earlier, so the next pay day at end of Januworry is 5 to 6 weeks waiting from mid December

Most of that price increase is because of inflation. Something sad to think about is that Black Friday is the opportunity to buy today's goods at last year's prices :(

Has somebody forwarded this article to the retailers yet. Just want to make sure they are adequately informed of the need to make this the BIGGEST Black Friday yet.

Nah. They put it up just a month before bf so they can then mark them down again. Like Takealot.
