The Concept version of the new 11th Gen Civic has been showed, production version will be out next year./

Honda Civic Concept

Honda gave the world its first glimpse of the all-new 2022 Civic on Twitch, the world's leading live streaming entertainment service. The new Civic, shown in prototype form in a striking new color, Solar Flare Pearl, showcases a fresh, sporty and upscale new look for Honda's iconic and immensely popular Civic.

The 11th-generation Civic draws inspiration from timeless elements of Honda design, including a low and wide stance, low beltline, clean and sophisticated detailing, and an open and airy cabin. The prototype model unveiled today presages the arrival of an all-new Civic lineup, beginning late spring 2021, with the launch of the Civic Sedan followed by the sporty and personal Civic Hatchback, performance-focused Civic Si, and the ultimate high-performance Civic: Type R.

Leveraging its strong presence in esports and gaming, Honda's debut on Twitch is a nod to Civic's industry-leading and global appeal with young buyers. The 10th-generation Civic has been an unparalleled success - America's most popular car four years running, and the most popular vehicle, car or light truck with Millennials, Gen Z, first-time new vehicle buyers and a growing population of multicultural customers since its 2015 launch. The 11th-generation Civic will build on that appeal with an even sportier, fun-to-drive new chassis, more powerful and fuel-efficient powertrains, multiple new Civic-first features and technologies, and further advances in active and passive safety features and performance.

New (11th-generation) Honda Civic revealed in 'prototype' sedan form!

Honda in North America has released the first official images of its new Civic sedan, showing the 11th-generation model in “prototype” form.

Finished in a new exterior paint colour called “Solar Flare Pearl”, the prototype provides a close preview of the upcoming production version of the sedan variant. For the record, the Japanese firm has confirmed the new Civic range will include sedan and hatchback body styles, with a Type R hot hatch also on the menu.

Honda claims the new Civic will offer an “even sportier, fun-to-drive new chassis, more powerful and fuel-efficient powertrains, multiple new Civic-first features and technologies, and further advances in active and passive safety features and performance”.

The prototype shows a fresh upper body design Honda says “maximises visibility” for the driver and passengers, with the A-pillars shifted back and the side mirrors relocated to the doors.

looks boring and safe, no funky door handles or triangular exhausts,
more like a corolla actually.

lets see the type R when it comes out.

New 2022 Honda Civic prototype revealed in saloon form

The 11th generation Civic will go on sale next year in saloon form, with hatchback and hot Civic Type R set to follow

Honda has revealed the next-generation Civic for the first time, showcasing a prototype of the saloon variant that will go on sale in the United States next year.

The 11th-generation of the family car will launch in saloon form, with the hatchback variant following later – with a Civic Type R hot hatch also confirmed. Honda has yet to confirm if the new model will be offered in the UK and Europe.

While the new Civic maintains several of the key styling elements of its predecessor it has a cleaner design influenced by the US-market Accord. It retains the low ride and bonnet of its predecessor, although Honda says designers extensively reworked the upper body by moving the A-pillars forward, to improve visibility. The wing mirrors have also been moved to the side doors.

The new Civic also has a reworked, smaller grille at the front, while the rear track has been widened. There are also new rear lights, while the saloon model shown by Honda also gains a new aerodynamic lip on the boot.

This would be a safe bet as a solid sedan.
Wonder if they will bring the manual here as the current line up is the crappy CVT only unless you get the Type R.

Let Honda's Product Planning Boss Walk You Through The New 2022 Civic Prototype

I know we all love to learn what goes into building wild machines like hypercars or race cars, but there’s something really nice about learning how an automaker has designed your daily driver to maximize comfort and efficiency. And that’s what a new video with head of product planning American Honda Motor Co., Gary Robinson, does with the 2022 Honda Civic prototype.

The new Civic prototype debuted last week on the automaker’s Twitch channelfor some reason, hoping to appeal to a younger audience (although I can’t say many folks in the 25-or-under market are really leaping to buy a brand new car at this exact moment).

The video below is nice, though. It gives you a little more intimate look at the Civic and what went into its design.

New 2021 Honda Civic seen in hatchback form for first time

Honda’s eleventh-generation Civic seen in UK-destined body style after saloon prototype was shown last year

Honda is preparing to launch the next-generation of its long-running Civic next year, and new spy shots preview the hatchback body style for the first time.

The images come a few weeks after Honda first revealed a prototype version of the Civic saloon. That’s not expected to come to the UK this time, due to slow sales of the current saloon, but the five-door hatchback is expected to launch here in the second half of next year.

The camouflaged prototype, registered and testing in Germany, sports a front-end look unsurprisingly identical to that of the saloon. However, it’s all change from the C-pillar back, where the Civic seems to have a fastback-style sloping roofline markedly different to that of the current model.

The 2022 Honda Civic Is All Grown Up

The 11th generation of the Honda Civic has leaked, and we are getting our first look at a production model of the little Honda sedan — which is not so little anymore.

The leaks of the Chinese-market version of this car (posted here from Autohome.com.cn) were featured on the Civic 11 forum. It’s almost identical to the concept that Honda teased in late 2020, if a little more modest with its paint and wheels. This will be the 2022 model year Honda Civic sedan, out this year. (Honda has a habit of releasing almost-production-ready designs as “concepts,” having done this exact same runaround on the Civic in 2015.)

The production model looks good enough, and I’m sure this new Civic keeps adding appeal for would-be Civic sedan drivers. I just can’t shake the feeling the Civic has become an Accord by another name.

Honda Civic Sedan

Honda offered the first official exterior look at the production 2022 Civic Sedan as preparations for the start of mass production near completion at Honda of Canada Mfg. in Alliston, Canada. Previewed in November 2020 with the Civic Prototype, the 2022 Honda Civic Sedan is the most fun to drive and technologically advanced sedan in the model's nearly 50-year history.

Inspired by the timeless design and human-focused values of past Civics, designers and engineers prioritized Honda's human-centered design philosophy, which maximizes the total environment for the driver and passengers, while minimizing the space needed for mechanical components. The goal is to increase the driver's ability to enjoy the car safely. The result is a sporty new look and an all-new simple and sporty interior that advances essential Civic values of uncluttered design, simple ergonomics and exceptional visibility.

All-new Honda Civic revealed ahead of official debut

The all-new Honda Civic has been revealed before its official unveiling later this month. Badged as the 2022 model, this will be the 11th generation of the iconic badge. Styling is largely on par with the concept that was revealed last November.

Shown here in North American spec, the Honda Civic sedan’s new design is said to be inspired by the timeless design and human-focused values of past Civics. Designers and engineers prioritised Honda’s human-centered design philosophy by focusing on cabin packaging for the driver and passengers while minimising the space needed for mechanical components.

The goal for the new Honda Civic is to increase the driver’s ability to enjoy the car with safely in mind. The result of which is a sporty new look and an all-new simple interior that advances essential Civic values of uncluttered design, simple ergonomics and exceptional visibility.

The 2022 Honda Civic: This Is it

The 2022 Honda Civic will be the Civic’s eleventh generation, and will also mark 50 years of Honda Civic. We got a preview of this in November, with the 2022 Honda Civic prototype, and again last month, but on Wednesday Honda released the real thing. What did we ever do without this car?

Honda didn’t release much else today beyond the photo you see above. No price. No specifications. No information about the powertrain. But what’s notable here is that while American automakers give up on small sedans that aren’t the Chevy Spark, Honda is resolutely sticking with them. There was never much doubt that the Civic would remain, of course, but I’ll admit to getting slightly nervous after Honda bailed on the new Fit here.

The eleventh-generation Civic sedan will be built in Alliston, Ontario, Canada, for the North American market, like the current one is, while Honda says the Civic hatchback will be built in America for the first time, at Honda’s plant in Greensburg, Indiana.

Honda's New Interior Wants You To Keep Your Eyes On The Road

Honda is cleaning up its interiors with a redesign. The new Civic will be the first of its cars to fully apply this new approach, which Honda Interior Design has just previewed. Honda calls this new design “Simplicity and Something.”

It’s ... catchy? No, it’s not, but Honda’s new approach is good! The design sketch for the new cabins is an exercise in restraint, and even if the production version is not quite as clean, it’s still a departure from many late model year Hondas.

Recent Hondas and Acuras were set up with a center stack for infotainment, and while it looked cool, I always felt like it split the dashboard into thirds.

The center stack created a column effect that could be distracting and just cluttered up your view. Acuras (and some Hondas) were even worse, with their dual screen center stack that increased what Honda designers call visual noise.

Honda Civic Sedan

Honda revealed the most fun-to-drive and technologically advanced Civic Sedan in the model's nearly 50-year history. The all-new 2022 Honda Civic boasts a clean, modern design paired with a high-tech, human-centered interior, and equipped with advanced active and passive safety systems. Previewed in November 2020 in prototype form, the 11th-generation Civic continues the tradition of innovation, design leadership and class-leading driving dynamics.

As Honda's longest-running automotive nameplate, Americans have purchased more than 12 million Civics since 1973, making it one of the top three best-selling passenger cars in America over the past 48 years. With sales of more than 1.7 million units over the last five years, Civic has been the No. 1 model in America - car or light truck - with first-time buyers, Millennials, Gen Z and multicultural customers, since the launch of the 10th-gen model in 2015.

"Civic has been the go-to choice for compact car buyers for almost 50 years and the all-new 11th-generation Honda Civic builds on that leadership with simple and sporty styling inside and out, best-in-class features and class-leading performance," said Dave Gardner, executive vice president of National Operations, American Honda Motor Co., Inc.
